To be honest, I have seen cat's too, and it was creepy! |
No. My family were all hunters. They all have stuffed deer, bear, moose etc in their houses. Dead animals in the house is sad to me. I prefer to bury the dead body in the little cemetery in the back yard, and hopefuly set their spirit free. |
Ohhh No!! That would creep me out majorly!! |
Wow, I never imagined how real it would look . . .the taxidermist did a really great job judging by how the owners felt it captured their beloved baby. Not sure if I would do that . . .but I thought it was really interesting. Thanks for sharing! |
I saw part of that show...I had to turn the channel. I really don't think I could do that...as much as I LOVE my fur kids I couldn't have them laying around and not moving...just gave me a weird feeling. |
No way...... It would creep me out too much!! |
At the US Marines museum in Quantico, there is a stuffed GSD. He was a doggy war hero. George Washington's horse is preserved and in one of the museums in DC. I suppose it is no different than the way we have preserved humans for centuries and a few famous ones have been put on display. I still wouldn't want to do it to my pet. |
Nope...could not do it to my pet, my children or my husband :) |

It's interesting to read the different opinions here. The thought occurred to me that if I have this done, and then when I die, I would want the preserved pets cremated with me. The thought that they could end up in an estate sale or worse the garbage, would necessitate me making those plans. |

No, I couldn't... I wouldn't. I would have to use my countless pictures and videos to remember him. Seeing a blank stare in his eyes and lifeless body would creep me out and break my heart at the same time. |
Nah, not for me...the whole circle of life....for me, when a loved one passes, I like to hold onto memories and photos.....its just too creepy.....ashes to ashes...dust to dust...I mean...if I were to do that, and my time comes, and my sons dont want my stuffed dog, then what!? Wonder how much it is? Bobbi |
I would love to stuff my Barney when his # is up. I am just not sure I'd want a stuffed Barney forever. Then, what the heck would I do with him?? I just don't know. He's 11, and time is running out. I missed the show, but I am going to watch it next time it is on. |
I don't think I could do it....it would be too painful for me to see my pet everyday and not be able to interact with them. It's hard enough remembering him...seeing him not moving etc would be too much for me. |
We had our first 2 schnauzers creamated. They died a yr. apart and were 2yrs. difference in their ages. Everything went good with Max but the emerg. vet did not understand we wanted a private creamation at the same place (Pet Rest) for Mandy. They kept her in a freezer for 2 days (over a week-end) before calling us. I almost died. I could not stand to think of my baby in a freezer. I was soooo upset. I know everyone is different but I now have both of their remains on a bookcase in the computar room and for me its comforting to know they are close. We we pass away I will request they be buried in our back-yard where they always loved to run and play. But, until then, they are still with me, always close by. |
