I've been looking at buying a purebred puppy but my heart keeps me looking at rescues'. I found one male at a shelter here in WV yesterday for $100 and was ready to go get him until I called and they said he didn't do well with other dogs.

You are kidding!!! She must want rid of him like yesterday:( she still hasn't called me back and I am sure with a two week old baby she is at home...:confused::confused: do you have the link for him on petfinder??

DH just called and he is on board with getting this baby out of his current situation...and I was so worried he would put his foot down and say no way are we getting involved. It has just got to work out...I wish she would hurry and call me:(

just took a chance and sent her a text...she responded she still has him!! Made the $200.00 offer and waiting to hear back

I called about him yesterday. In his ad it says he gets along with other dogs. When I called them the lady I spoke with says he gets aggressive after playing with them.

I wonder why they told you he wasn't good with other dogs when on Petfinder it says he is :confused:

I hear you Nancy! My fiance, Teddy and I got into the elevator of our building on Christmas eve...there was a little boy and his grandma already in there. They boy was about 2 and kept saying "doggie doggie" so I bent down to let him pet Teddy. The grandmother said..."Dylan you used to have two dogs like that but when you were born". I said, "oh how cute". The grandmother responded, "my daughter and her husband gave them away when he was born...they were the babies first and required too much attention." The second we got out of the elevator ... I looked at my fiance and said, "well that was interesting. We will never ever give Teddy away when we have babies." People need to realize there is an adjustment period for all involved. Naturally it is something new for everyone and it takes time and patience. I grew up with dogs and wouldn't have it any other way. Children love dogs!
