Even if she likes to be covered, try to get her on top of a little blanket. It will be much easier to slide the blanket if you need to move her at night. and also to find her! |
All three dogs sleep in bed with us. The big guys get off sometimes and I will find them on the bathroom tile..i guess they get hot? Remy sleeps on one of our pillows or under the covers..she is the first dog we have that sleeps under the covers! She has been sleeping with us from day one. I have had other dogs that were crated or slept in beds in our room. The fur babies do wake me, they move around a bit, and I dont get as solid of sleep...but it is what it is! I love the sunggles and puppy kisses and so does dh! |
i think its too late for meesha, shes hooked with sleeping in my bed, i tryed to keep her in a crate beside my bed and she cried sooo much it broke my heart, plus gave me even less sleep LOL, i was out with friends the other night and got my father to come watch her for me, well her internal bedtime clock went off and she cried to him to get up in my bed, he had to lay down in my bed with her until i got home LOL, guess i'll get my father to finish building that yorkie ramp for my bed lol thanks for letting me know eveyone your opinion on them sleeping in the bed with you, i never had a dog want to sleep in my bed, so was just getting some imput, i shulda started meesha sooner, but shes persistant in getting what she wants, it killed me to her her cry to get up in my bed |
Buster ( Boo for short ) has slept on my bed along with her sister Lucy my Bichon Frise from day one, he was 8 weeks old when we got him with no problems :) |
Mine sleep in their own beds. Here's the deal, I don't`thinin my situation it's tjhe safest thing for them, I have a super tall bed, we roll and there just isn't enough room. Whatever you do though you will have to stick with it being forever pretty much. A dog can go from crate to bed or their bed to your bed, but to do the reverse will be both problematic and hard for them & you. So if you don't want her in your bed for life stop doing it now do the her bed or crate training now and stick to it, no breaking down, no caving in in do it and mean it and make it the routine pattern-eventually she'll be secure in there and comfortable, but any caving/irregularity will be confusing and cause whining at night-or make future attempts so so so much harder. My first dog as an adult slept under my bed, wow trying to crate train after that was horrific! Epic failure on my part! |
Gizmo sleeps on his cloud 9 in our bed...Don't know how we all fit. But we tried to crate train and after two weeks of only 3 hours of sleep per night (this was during the week of our wedding also) I finally caved, brought him up in bed, and he's been there ever since. No accidents, and he usually wakes us up if he needs to go potty. |

We attempted to have Lola sleep in her own bed for the first few months... but somehow she has ended up sleeping with us:rolleyes: |

Sigh, the brat has us wrapped around his little paw:rolleyes: Then to top it all off, I'll get ready for work early in the morning and come into the bedroom to find my husband has dragged the cloud 9 bed up on my side and him and Gizmo are cuddled up together with Gizmo's head on my pillow and under all of the covers:rolleyes: |

Sophie Kate sleeps in our bed now but when she was a puppy she slept in her crate in my guest room. She had to earn the right to sleep in the big bed and that included being able to hold her potty needs to morning. I will add she wakes me up every morning at 6:00 am or around that time, regardless of the day, weather or how late I stayed out the night before. Now the bed is more hers and the cat, they just allow us to sleep in it at night. |

i think its fine & they need to be close to you, & be warm, its just their lovable nature. sounds like your taking precautions with preventing falling & making it easy for your pup to get in & out of bed. i would put a pee pad in your room @ night & maybe remove it in am & use outdoors or your regular pee area. during the day. they love routine, & they are very smart., hopefully would catch on quick this is where i pee @ night & maybe you will get some sleep. good luck!!! |
Both my boys sleep with me, in fact it's hard for me to sleep without them touching me, lol. I think its alright if your furbaby sleeps with ya!! |
Jackson has slept in my bed since he was very young. All of our family dogs have always slept in our bed. My childhood GSD slept with me, our Golden Retriever with my dad, my aunts Pittie, etc, etc. We are a family of suckers and the dogs know it. ;) |
