Apparently, a ham bone is pretty scary ! Brody is standing in the kitchen, wagging his tail and barking at a ham bone put down for the kitties. If the bone wobbles, he jumps back and barks, wagging his tail. If we bring him out of the kitchen, he runs back to bark at the bone, and if we shut the (rarely closed) full-length glass bi-fold door, he whines and scratches at it to get back into the kitchen to bark at the bone. Mia thought the bone was cool and nibbled at...or the ham left on it as a treat, and one of the 13-year-old cats is just looking at Brody trying to figure out what planet he is from that he does not find a ham bone impressive ! :D From the living room, even the closed bi-fold door...safe at close up distances...deserves to be barked at, too. I've not yet decided if Brody is playing a Yorkie practical joke on us...or having a Yorkie mental breakdown. :D - Cat |
1 Attachment(s) UPDATE: The ham bone is safe to nibble on as long as Our Mommy or Our Daddy stands in the kitchen! Problem solved...sort of...:D - Cat |
1 Attachment(s) Our Mommy is a little slow, but she 'gets it' eventually. We wuf Our Mommy/Adjustable Bone Holder...:D Brody and Mia |
My little ones can hear the bus or garbage truck as soon as it turns down out street and that gets them every time. They are so funny - and think they are so tough! |
Taz does the same thing. He is more quicker to bark at unusual noises and even some people. But I love that though. We stay home a lot together and a lot of the time it's just Taz and I so when he does hear a strange noise I love that he barks to alert me of anyone or anything! You gotta just love your protective pooch! |
door bell (even on the tvs) birds in their yard dishwasher going from rinse to full wash cycle |
Cody is a weird little guy. He's not really freaked out by anything. He likes to investigate loud sounds, but he doesn't bark or get scared. He actually likes the blowdryer, and he couldn't care less about the vacuum. (He's the only animal I've ever had who wasn't afraid of the vacuum. I find it odd, actually. But good!) In fact, the only time we hear him bark is when he wants to play with the cats and they aren't interested. Otherwise he's all mellow, all the time. |
Oh! Also the sound of the shower curtain being pulled back...they all run like H311! LoL Once they hear the shower going (with someone in it) they slowly look around and crawl out of hiding...isn't it amazing how they can hear and know when someone has stepped in the shower by the sound of the water hitting off someone before the shower floor? |

I can't even watch Wheel of Fortune anymore!! The doorbell sound on this show puts Jax into a barking frenzy and running to the front door. Don't know how he equates the front door with the doorbell as we never use the front door, only the side and back doors. Also, he was disturbed and perturbed by the face of a snowman on one of the gift bags under our Christmas tree. Kept barking at it. |
Maggie gets extremely startled when she's laying on her daddy's lap and his cell phone rings. She flies off his lap and onto the floor so fast! The phone literally just starts to ring and she's gone! lol |
Gizmo will bark at my husband to get his attention to play...And he'll keep barking, and barking, and barking, so one day my husband looked at him and did this realy loud, "Woof! Woof! Woof!" And Gizmo went a flying through the house and then flying back and hid behind me. |
EVERYTHING startles my Fletcher. I literally mean EVERYTHING! Poor little guy is a nervous wreck! Dexter could care less about anything if he's comfy for the most part. Fletcher freaks if I sneeze. He HATES it and runs away from me. LOL funny from the dog who sneezes 500x a day! LOL |
Winston is startled by his own farts...literally! |
Tonight I was reminded of another one. Roxy doesn't like spooky movies. The music & sound affects get to her and she will leave the room every time. Ohhh, and I love ghost stories. Groannnn! |
