southernbelle04 | 12-08-2011 10:28 AM | Hey guys!!! Happy Thursday! First, thank you all for checking in on Katie Scarlett and for your thoughts! We really appreciate it!
Well before bed time last night, Katie Scarlett was up and like her old self. She was wanting to play (which she had not done all day) and was really thirsty. I know she was hungry. She kept walking over to where her food was and looking up at me with that 'hey, what's going on here look?' So I called our vet tech. I know her personal number and she said I could call any time. She said if I wanted to try to give her a little she thought it would be fine since she had not had any more vomiting in 8+ hours since the shot and was up and active. So I did give her a bit of her food. She gobbled it right up, so I know she was hungry.
Right after she ate, she laid down next to me and we loved on each other for a while. She then went into her little tent that her big girl bed was in and went to sleep. I laid down in the floor next to her so I could keep an eye on her. My husband came in from work at 5 AM and KS heard him when he pulled up. Of course, she went into her 'attack dog' mode as we call it to let me know someone was at the door. I told her it was Daddy and she calmed down. She saw it was him when he came in and she had to love on him for a bit.
We then went back to bed for a few more hours. When I woke up, she was like my old Katie Scarlett. She has been running around the house all day so far. Really active, but I do not mind since she was so out of it yesterday. I did give her more food and she ate. She has drank plenty of water. She has visited the pad twice to pee, but no poopie so far today. So no diarhea. I am watching her closely. At this moment, she looks like she is about to lay down for a nap.
So for now, I say she is on the mend. I'm still going to keep a sharp eye out. I did do our morning grooming and I gave her one of those Gerber sweet potato puffs in lieu of the Nutri Cal since I learned yesterday that I do not need to be giving her that unless it is needed for the hypoglycemia. I have looked at her gums and they look normal.
Again, thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers!!! We do have puppy class tonite. Do you think if she is still feeling ok that we should go or should I keep her at home?
AND Thank you guys!!!! You are such a blessing!!! |
