Are male yorkies more difficult to housebreak? Just wondering if males are harder to train than females? My female Morkie was easier than my males? My breeder has a male available but i'm not sure what to do. |
No! One of my males hasn't had an accident in about 10 years now. Training is the key to potty training. Neutering is important though so you do not have marking. |
Not in my house! My male has been easier to train for everything. I had him neutered at 7 months though so he wouldnt mark that can be a problem with unneutered males |
:) hiya , i have a female poppy ;) and i have had a male , i found them about the same to train :) jill n poppy xx :aimeeyork |
thank you both! |
thanks! |
I'm waiting to hear more details from breeder on size, age, cost and size of parents. I'm wondering if purebred Yorkies are much different than Morkies. I think my Rusty acted more like a Yorkie than Maltese. |
My male was easily potty-trained, and does not mark. :) |
is marking worse with two males? I would like another male because after rusty died, Sophie acted like she was going to attack a female yorkie that camps near us. I hope she'll be okay with a new puppy. i don't know what to do??? I have huge hole in my heart after losing Rusty. It's making me crazy! |
No the marking is usually due to an uneutered male or someone who waited too long to neuter a male and they had already started marking and a habit developed |
Many good breeders have told me that females are harder to housebreak. I think the problem with males is the marking and that hasn't anything to do with the need to urinate. If you have a female, I’d definitely get a male. Neither one of my boys marks in the house. |

Now when Im talking about marking Im only referencing marking indoors. My neutered male marks outside when he goes on walks |
