YORKIE KILLING DETAILS in Jonesborough, TN CALL WASHINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE AND COMPLAIN!!!!! OR WRITE TO THE ADDRESS BELOW [QUOTE=sarahjmiller51;3743952]©2010 Washington County Sheriff's Office, TN 112 W. Jackson Blvd, Jonesborough, TN. 37659 (423)788-1414 send mail to P.O Box 1217, Johnson City, TN 37605-1217 JOHNSONCITYPRESS.COM READ ABOUT IT!!!!! More information about a 4-pound Yorkie’s death is detailed in a court document charging a man with aggravated animal cruelty. Dustin Ricky Harrell, 21, 1178 Old Stage Road, Jonesborough, was arraigned on the charge late Monday afternoon in Washington County Sessions Court. A court document details how Harrell allegedly repeatedly tortured, then comforted, the family dog named Honey. At one point during the torture, Harrell told investigators that he went to his computer to looked up “dog in the dryer” after he had put the Yorkie, named Honey, in the clothes dryer. An investigator said the torture occurred over a four-hour period. The miniature dog’s death was reported by Harrell’s father on Nov. 3, apparently after he found the dog dead. Harrell told Washington County Sheriff’s Investigator Jeff Miller that he first threw the dog down the stairs at his house, then comforted it, then threw it down the stairs several more times. “He later filled the bathtub up with water and held the dog under the water for approximately 20 seconds at a time” and did this three times, Miller wrote in the court record. After the bathtub incident, Harrell said he dried the dog off with a towel, then put the dog in the clothes dryer — with nothing else in it — and turned the machine on for four minutes. That’s when Harrell told investigators he looked up “dog in the dryer” on the computer. After that, Harrell threw the dog down another time, which broke the Yorkie’s leg. That injury caused Honey to cry in pain, so Harrell used painter’s tape around the dog’s mouth to keep her quiet and used an Icy Hot sleeve on the dog’s broken leg. When the Yorkie stopped crying, Harrell told police he removed the tape and the dog began bleeding from the mouth. Harrell said he held Honey and she died in his arms. When Harrell was arrested on Friday, he was given a $10,000 bond — the highest a court clerk was able to assign — but during his arraignment Monday, Judge James Nidiffer doubled the bond to $20,000. Harrell is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Monday at 1:30 p.m. in Washington County Sessions Court. Animal torture is a symptom of a much greater emotional problems. This guy most assuredly abuses his family, too. Jeffrey Dahmer tortured animals when he was a child. Fortunately, law enforcement has become much more aware of this violence connection and aren't ignoring this behavior any more. We can only pray that he is both punished and gets some serious counseling. |
Disgusting. I hope the sob rots in hell, & it's my personal belief he will. Thankfully, the poor pup is free of all it's pain now.:( |
poor poor baby |
--Why three threads about this? Sorry OP but I'm confused about the multiple postings from you about this? |
bcuz i wuz at work and kept getting interrupted, don't quite have the hang of this yet, and kept losing my place every time i had to get out of the forum |
I couldn't even finish reading the article. What a deranged freak this guy is plotting how to make a little yorkie suffer. Lock him up, give him medication but throw away the key. |
Please sign the petition to ensure that this SOB gets the maximum sentencing! http://www.thepetitionsite.com/18/ma...ustin-harrell/ |
Signed the petition. Please do sign this petition. It is true that you can make a difference. If you have suggestions for the court that are within the sentencing guidelines of the State, then please make your voice heard. It is too late for this little yorkie, but we can speak for him. |
Sick, just sick.. How could anyone do this. Poor baby. Hope he rots in jail and then in hell. |
1 Attachment(s) Never let this face be forgotten, because he will someday kill a human being. |
Someone needs to do the same thing to this man as he did to the poor helpless baby. Put him in the dryer for 30 minutes and see how he likes it! Oh that makes my blood boil! I want to hang him by his toenails and let him suffer....sorry...a little graphic! It just pisses me off! Petition Signed! |
Someone else nailed it - he has much deeper mental issues - think about it - he tortured the poor little puppy then consoled it then repeated the cycle. He definitely needs some kind of help because he surely does not have all of his screws tightened down. That said, I do hope that he gets the most the law will allow. I was also glad to see the judge raised his bond from $10k to $20k. To the OP who asked about why no one stopped him, they probably were not around while he was doing it. Petition signed. |
Signed it. Broke my heart. |
Thanks to everyone who has signed so far. I am from the area and it honestly sickens me. I currently live in Atlanta but I plan to make the trip to TN when the court date is near. I posted more details in another thread a few times. I'm glad to see that this is getting the recognition that is needed. |
this made me burst out crying. it makes me want to retch. how can ANYONE be so CRUEL?!?! i think he should be punished with the "eye for an eye" attitude. He should know how it feels to have all that done to him. He shouldnt be allowed to live. He makes me sick. Poor baby, i hope she is in a happier, pain free place, free from the memories or her torture and the monster that did it all to her. May she rest in peace. |
it breaks my heart for that poor little dog |
I signed - thanks for posting it...i'm trying to do my best on posting things here, but don't have the time to figure it all out right now, so thanks!!! hope everyone that reads the article will sign the petition!!!! |
Just signed. That's one sick person  |

I had read about this yesterday without the horrific details. His step father was defending him as a good guy who had issues from childhood abuse. Please! WTH! There is absolutely no excuse for this guys cruelty toward this poor defenseless 4 lb dog. |
