I recently switched Rocco's food to Taste of the Wild, and he loves it. He used to be on Wellness small breed, which is a good food, but he had excessive eye tearing/boogers. Taste of the Wild is a grain-free food and has been excellent so far. |

Grading scales are generally based on the opinions of those that think they know something about canine nutrition. Whether or not they do is up for debate. In most cases, they do not have the credentials to be handing out this kind of information as fact. In other words, JMHO these sites are very close to useless. I can't trust the opinion of one of these site creators when it comes to my pups' health. That is what their vet and veterinary nutritionist are for. |

Hi! My Yorkie eats Taste of the Wild high prairie. He really likes it and I have not had any trouble with getting him to eat it. He has only ever been on this food, so I really can't speak for the other brands people have listed here, but I know TOTW is good. It is grain free and contains high quality ingredients. Hope this helps. P.S. Petsmart doesn't sell this brand, I have to buy it at Fedder's supply company, Not sure if you have access to this. Goodluck finding something he will like :) |

chester has done very well on the new solid gold sun dancer grain free and only 30% protein, alot of my friends with picky dogs are even eating it |

Im going to try TOTW. Diddy is 1. Is he still supposed to eat puppy food?? |

Oliver is very picky too.. I have tried 4 different foods before switching both dogs to Blue Basics turkey and rice. Ollie LOVES it.. he dances for it, literally. He has less eye boogers as well. Mya will eat anything, lol, but she likes it too and does well on it. Both dogs have seperate issues that made choosing a food that might work for both difficult. So far, so good. |

No, a one year old doesn't need to eat puppy food anymore (esp. for a small breed). TOTW actually JUST changed their formulas and separated some into puppy food. They used to be All Life Stages. I am sure you will be fine! A lot of picky eaters love TOTW, so hopefully he likes it. :):) |

Toby likes Wellness and I can usually pick it up on sale at Petsmart quite often. If you're looking around for information about dog food, I stumbled across this website and found it useful: Dog Food Comparison, Ratings, Reviews - In-Depth Guide to the Best Dog Food |

 Thank you! |

Be sure and let us know how he does. And I agree with the other posters, it's up to you and your dog with regards to food. I know dogs that are on Science Diet and do well, and dogs that are on Orijen that do well. It's whatever your little girl or guy can tolerate, combined with your own food choices. Good luck! |
