This Makes Me Sick!
 

I honestly cannot there are people like this in the world today! This story makes me sick, literally!

A Jonesborough man was arrested on animal cruelty charges after he allegedly tortured and killed a family dog, according to a Washington County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Dustin Ricky Harrell, 21, 1178 Old Stage Road, Jonesborough, was charged with aggravated cruelty to an animal after he admitted to investigators that he killed a family dog named Honey, according to Sheriff Ed Graybeal.

Harrell repeatedly threw the dog down stairs, held it under water and cycled it through a clothes dryer for approximately four minutes, Graybeal said in the release.

The dog’s leg was broken during the torture, causing it to cry for help. The dog’s mouth also was taped shut to prevent it from crying out further.

Harrell was being held in the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of $10,000 bond pending an appearance in Sessions Court on Monday at 9 a.m.

I urge everyone to contact the Washington County Tennessee District Attorney and express your rage and disgust towards this man! Hopefully he will get a severe punishment!

You know, the look in that idiot's face is just creepy. Don't know if it's because I know what he did or the fact that he had no problem admitting what he did like it was nothing or if he is just pure evil but there is something about his face that just looks evil. If he can do that to an animal I have no doubts that he could do just as bad to any human being. I hope he is enjoying himself in jail, too bad he won't be there long!

I agree! You can just tell that he is a heartless and cruel human being from just looking at him! I have no doubt whatsoever that he would not hesitate to do this to a human being if he hasn't done so already!

It honestly tears me up. I know how my babies are when they get the least bit scared. I can only imagine what that poor dog went through.

What a sick POS. IMO, hurt a baby or an animal and you are the lowest form of scum on the face of the earth.

Oh my goodness, this is just about 45 minutes away from me. I will write the DA for sure. That man needs to be put behind bars for a very long time. He has a look of pure evil in his eyes. That poor little dog:(

That is horrendous!!! That is an awful man! He deserves the same thing done to him!

Reminds me of Jeffrey Dahmer - though I don't believe Dahmer killed a family pet but he did start out killing animals - which was as we all know, escalated to killing humans. I don't see how anyone could be so heartless as to kill a family pet! Disgusts me and I couldn't even read the article -what I read on the posting was enough to give me that sickened feeling in the pit of my stomach. I hope they lock him up and throw away the key but we know with overcrowding that probably won't happen. Regardless, I hope someone in jail treats him to a "special date" for doing this to the poor dog.

Just sent my e-mail. Hope enough folks communicate the idea that this case is being watched by many and is found to be outrageously cruel and sick.

This person is obviously sick, however those who prey on the weak in society are the most dangerous, they prey on our animals, our elderly, our children and whoever they render defenseless.

I am boycotting China still proudly because of their well so much, but I do have to say their one bullet policy isn't as harsh as the crimes some people commit...

I will also write to the DA. This is very sad. Sounds like a Jeffrey Dalmer. This person needs to be locked up and allow the INMATES TO MAKE HIM A MAN, if you know what I mean!!!!

An update!

It turns out that the dog was a 4lb Yorkie!!!

OMG! I'm shaking as I type this so if I misspell something look over it. I am amazed at the horrible things people can do!

There were apparently 30+ "animal activist" in the courtroom and apparently one was so loud that the judge threatened to remove him! I think that this case will actually go somewhere if people keep pushing it!

The district attorney says that he's prosecuting this as a FELONY and the Judge in the case seems to be taking it very serious. He didn't want to appoint the SOB a lawyer and told him to get a job to pay for it. He also doubled his bond amount!

i heard this on the news this am before i went to work.

I WOULD KILL HIM if he touched my little Hobo!!!!

ANY abuse to an animal or person is EVIL!!!!

I am going to post more details about this story.

I am not doing this to make anyone feel bad or to just get attention on here.

I hope and pray that more and more of you will call the DA and demand that this SOB not be given any mercy!

"Harrell told Washington County Sheriff’s Investigator Jeff Miller that he first threw the dog down the stairs at his house, then comforted it, then threw it down the stairs several more times.

“He later filled the bathtub up with water and held the dog under the water for approximately 20 seconds at a time” and did this three times, Miller wrote in the court record.

After the bathtub incident, Harrell said he dried the dog off with a towel, then put the dog in the clothes dryer — with nothing else in it — and turned the machine on for four minutes.

That’s when Harrell told investigators he looked up “dog in the dryer” on the computer. After that, Harrell threw the dog down another time, which broke the Yorkie’s leg.

That injury caused Honey to cry in pain, so Harrell used painter’s tape around the dog’s mouth to keep her quiet and used an Icy Hot sleeve on the dog’s broken leg.

When the Yorkie stopped crying, Harrell told police he removed the tape and the dog began bleeding from the mouth. Harrell said he held Honey and she died in his arms."

OMG, I just looked at the article & saw his face. He looks like a disgusting EVIL PIG and that's what he is. Why in Gods name would anyone do something so horrible to such an innocent creature ? He tells what he did to that poor baby but not why, he had to have a reason. Although NO reason would warrant his actions but still. I am so angry rite now that it's a damn good thing the Vile Pig isn't in front of me rite now. :mad:

I completely agree! You can tell that this "thing" is pure evil! I know that most may not agree, but a slow and painful death is what he deserves.

Well, at least this abuse was made public. For every animal abuse case you see in the paper there are hundreds that are never made public Someone took the time to make sure this person was charged for what he did. Usually others are just too busy to bother. We used to be a kind and compassionate nation. That trend seems to have changed a great deal. I have worked for many years in a medical facility that deals with kids and families of all income levels. I have to say the future is not bright. The family is not what it used to be with kids growing up pretty much raising themselves for various reasons. Kindness, compassion and consideration are traits that are taught. Kids being raised by a television and video games are not learning what it takes to care about something outside themselves. I'm afraid that there will be many more victims in a nation that has lost it's reason to care.
