Callie's surgery Callie gets her LP surgery today on her right leg. I am freaking out pretty bad but I haven't had Callie away from me for the night sense she was probably a year old. Any prayers and good thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I will try to update everyone as soon as the surgeon calls me to tell me how it went. My mom is picking me and Callie up at 7am and then we are heading to the orthopedic surgeons office/vet hospital where Callie has to be between 8am and 8:30am. I maybe a drama queen but I am starting to cry a little typing this. |
Sending hugs and prayers for you and Callie ((hugs)). I know how worried you must be, you wouldn't be a good mommy if you didn't worry. I hope today goes by fast for you and I am sure Callie will do great. Just think she won't be in pain after she recovers. You are a good mommy making sure Callie gets the treatment she needs. |
I can understand being worried, I would be, too. Callie will feel so much better when she's all healed after the surgery. You are such a good mom to do this for her. I'll keep you both in my prayers today! |
I shall be thinking about you both today, I hope today goes so quickly for you. Good luck and a :hug:from Harry. Sally + Harry x |
Taylor, I will be praying for little Callie that she does great during the procedure and has a completely uneventful post-op night tonight. Keep us posted when you know she is out of surgery and awake. Can you see her today? |
Max and I are sending prayers and hugs AND well wishes to you and Callie!!! We hope everything goes well!!! |
It is ok to feel sad. Been there done that with my own furbabies. Callie is going to do great. So many people are praying for her. :) Sending hugs to both of you! |
Best wishes on Callie's surgery:love: |
You are NOT a drama queen. That is your baby and I just know you are feeling so worried about scared now, understandably. I remember when I took Jackson to the vet for a GI upset, I was not prepared at ALL for them to tell me he had to stay there overnight. I immediately welled up and waited until the doctor left the room to just cry and say goodbye to Jackson. I had left him overnight before but only at my fathers house, never anywhere else. He's super super attached to me, as I am sure Callie is to you, and I just felt like an awful pet parent. Just know that you are helping her and she will feel like a brand new dog in a few weeks when she is out of pain! Good luck with everything. Keep yourself calm, I know it's going to be hard, but it will be worth it to have her in your arms again tomorrow. |
Update Callie made it through her surgery! The surgeon said it was a successful surgery! I think the hardest thing I didn't realize I was going to have to do was that I had to chose whether I wanted them to make the best choice for her if they couldn't get in touch with me or if I wanted them to do nothing and I chose do what they thought best if they could not get in touch with me. Then I had to chose for them to revive her if her heart stopped or to not revive her and I chose revive her. It made my stomach sick to sign that and think about it. I was telling the nice lady checking us in that Callie gets very cold easily and she said they have warmers under blankets where they keep them and that they also cover them up and that made me feel so much better because I was so scared she was gonna freeze. I get to pick her up tomorrow at 3pm. Tonight I am going to get her play pen ready and get her crate in my room ready. |
I am glad she did well. Get well wishes and prayers for your sweet girl. She is lucky to have you. |
You and Callie will be in our prayers. |
Happy to hear Callie did well with her surgery! Hugs and prayers for a speedy recovery. |

So happy she came out okay with a successful surgery! I will be thinking of you tonight without your baby, and also praying for a speedy recovery. Jackson wants Callie to get better so he can meet another teapot Yorkie friend soon! |
I am so sorry that I missed your post this morning about Callie's LP surgery this morning. It's so hard to leave our babies even when you know it's for the best. Wonderful news that she had successful surgery and will be home tomorrow with you. Hang in there only a few more hours and your baby girl will be back right were she belongs. :) |
I missed this today as well. I am SO happy to hear that Callie's surgery went well! :) Wishing her a speedy recovery. |
Oh what great news!! I am so glad Callie's surgery went well. I hope the time flies by for you until you pick her up tomorrow. I am so glad you gave us an update. I have had her on my mind and you both in my prayers today. |
Good thoughts sent your way You are not a drama queen at all..............you just love your baby!!!! Please keep up posted! :) |
Another update I am so thankful for every ones prayers! We called the vet hospital to check on her and the women on the phone said that they have tried hand feeding her but shes not eating (I figured she wouldn't away from me just hope her tummy isn't hurting) but they had noted in her chart she had allergies so they asked if any were food related and they aren't just environmental so she would like to see if she can get her to eat some food they have there but they are also watching her sugar to make sure she doesn't have a hypoglycemic episode. She also wouldn't drink not sure why on that one. But apparently she is loving to be held so they are holding her as a lot which makes me feel better because Callie does love being held and hates being alone. I really just love this vet hospital and the people there. I think I will be able to sleep tonight knowing they are taking great care of Callie but I still cannot wait to get her back in my arms. |
So glad that she is being held there. It will help her feel better too. She may start eating soon. You need to sleep and be well rested to take care of your baby tomorrow. :) |
Bless your heart! So glad to hear the surgery went well. I will be praying for you guys! I hope she has a quick recovery! |
Aw maybe her tummy is just upset from the anesthesia. Hopefully she will feel better tomorrow and she will eat some. |
I'm so glad it's over and she did well. You will both have a wonderful reunion tomorrow.:) |
That is so nice they are pampering her! :) I know that both of you will be so happy tomorrow! I bet she will eat like a little piggy when she has her mommy! :D |
I'm glad to hear that her surgery went well! It sounds like she's in great hands. Keep us updated on how she is doing. I bet you can't wait to get her back... |
Another update We called to check on her this morning and she still will not eat or drink so they said I can come get her early. So after my mom gets out of the dentist I am going to call her and see is she will come get me and my grandma so we can go get my baby. I cannot wait to have her in my arms! I am afraid to feed her in the car because she sometimes gets car sick but I do plan to see if I can get her to drink right away and food when we get home. |
