I would be ticked to pay $10 for a crappy tag and then to get no refund or replacement for it. I paid around that price years ago for one and it wasn't very readable. I complained and a got a different one from the company that was better as a replacement. I haven't used those machines in years because I found out about buying them online. The machines at the pet stores really don't do it justice. |
Maci, eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices That's where I got my tags, and they had cool font and graphics. This is for the double-sided one. It looks like the same seller above tho (oops) |
I got Callie and Sammy a red dingo tag that was around 15 bucks but those tags never seem to fade or anything plus the front is nice and pretty and the back rubs against her rabies tag but no fading. I would go back up there and talk to the manager. I would make sure that whatever tag she has on is up to date because you never know when they could get out or anything. Also try not to shop at petland anymore they support puppy mills! |

2 Attachment(s) I would definitely complain online and mail in a letter of complaint and a copy of the receipt. It is their fault! I wish I would have seen this thread before I went to PetSmart today. I bought a $20 dollar tag. :( I could have bought 6 or 7 tags for that. I didn\'t know that I could buy cheap tags online. I\'ll definitely be doing that from now on. I do have to say... PetSmart did a pretty good job. These are the ones I got today. Attachment 356853 Attachment 356854 |
Ok.. Don't get mad, but I just have to say this... I've read this thread throughout today and keep having the same thought... And I just have to get it off my brain.... Yes, I would be furious if the store would not replace the tag if it was horrific... In fact, knowing me, I would throw a hissy fit until they fixed it.... But, what gets me thinking is the op stated that $10 would be a burden because it was christmas time... What If your baby gets sick?? what if, what if, what if.... I just can't get the fact that 10 bucks is a problem.... I appologize in advance for stepping on toes... Just my train of thought... |

God forbid something were to happen to anyone's pups. But I wouldn't consider that part of the equation just yet. If she really couldn't afford the $10 I don't think she would have gotten the tag. The old tag was a bit beat up, but still readable, so it's not like it was a necessity. |

Well, I think there would be a clear distinction between christmas funds and emergency money. If something ever happened to my baby and I didn't have the money I'd dip into the christmas funds. I think the OP is just stating that she doesn't want to dole out money over trivial things like tags (especially when it wasn't her mistake) when she has other things to pay for during the holidays. I don't think it has anything to do with emergencies and I would hope she'd have money set aside for that, it's just a waste to spend so much on crappy tags only to have to do it again. That's just how I read into it. |
I'm obsessed with Fetching Tags. They are pricey, but they look sooo cool, and in person the detail is just amazing. It will NEVER wear off in the lifetime of the dog! Plus I love the cool sayings you can get on them. But if they are too pricey, etsy has some nice tag makers. |
