Your baby is such a cutie pie and think she is adorable wearing her new clip! |
Aww Lola is absolutely precious!! :) Teddy will be a year next month and is 3.5lbs and very solid and compact. I always get the "Is he a teacup?" question. My other favorite is "Is he a toy?". My response typically is, "Yes he falls under the "toy" breed category of dogs as he is a yorkie." |
I once replied to that question with "No, he's a saucer", then carried on about my business. The look on her face....!!! |
i have a little-un and she is definately the boss! not just with my other dog but with all my family's dogs too! i ALWAYS get asked if shes a puppy and i just reply with "no actually shes nearly 2 years old" or i get "is she a tea cup or a runt?" so i rply with "she is not a runt and have you never heard that good things come in small packages????" my sister always calls her "rat dog" too which REALLY grinds my gears (she loves her but only says it as she know it annoys me) but i will always stick up for yorkie kind - big or small they are still the best breed out there!! |

Here is a teacup question situation that happened to me recently. I live in NYC and there are a TON of yorkies. Teddy loves spotting other yorkies and runs up to them. About 3 months ago Teddy ran up to a yorkie that was much larger than him and the owner became very hostile toward me. This is how the situation played out: Teddy spots the yorkie and in typical Teddy fashion sprints toward runs up to the yorkie the sniff each other tangle leashes etc. The owner says to me..."ohh he is a puppy? He is tiny". I respond and say, "he is 8 months." Her response, "Is he a teacup?" My response, "No." Her response, "Well how big is he expected to get." I respond "the vet said he would be around 4 lbs fully grown.". Her response (no joke) is a shrill nasty laugh followed by "ohh well your vet is lying to you...thats what they told me about her and she is 10lbs...she was once his size. If you didn't spend the money to buy a teacup there is no way he will be 4lbs fully grown". My jaw literally hit the floor and it took me about a minute to compose myself before responding. I said, "excuse me? I did not pay for a teacup because there is no such thing as a teacup. And for the record, I personally do not care how big or small my dog is because I love him just the same no matter what the size." She then grabs her dog huffs and walks away. Clearly someone was having a bad day! |
