That my larger yorkie is a silky, Ive looked all through his pedigree and hes all yorkie |
So far I guess I've been lucky! There are a lot of yorkies in Gwinnett County, so the ignorance may be reduced. Size doesn't matter... Yorkshire terrier chasing a doberman - YouTube |

I love how all 4 of the Yorkies are totally diff in size, & color too. Maxwell is a lil barney bad bottom-his poor momma just tried to calm him. |

Okay so mine is a different vent. I rescued a little guy who is still leqarning correct manners because he was not given consistant training. So If someone has asked if they can pet him...he has given signs its okay and I say yes...then he nips...well he gets in trouble, a firm no bite and a redirect. They always say its okay he didn't hurt me. I always ask back, if it had been a big dog would you say the same thing? Don't make excuses for them cause they are cute...help make sure they know the rules. |

Geno, my yorkie, always gets called a rat dog or purse dog. I always get asked, "are you one of those girls that puts their dog in your purse?" I don't put Geno in a purse but even if I did, so what. He'd look freaken cute strolling around under my arm haha I also take Geno to daycare while I'm at work cause I won't be home at night for a few hours. I don't like to leave him alone for longer than my workday so that's where he goes. People at work make fun of me that he goes to daycare but then tell me they wish they could die and come back as my dog cause they would get treated like royalty and be living the life lol  |
OKay I must confess. I cross dressed my schnorkie-yes on purpose but accidentally on purpose. When I got Scoobers he was supposed to be a girl and not a boy he was mislisted at the pound so the poor lil guy wore pink for the first year. I had already bought ll the stuff because I just knew I wanted a girl and when we met him we couldn't say no-how could i not use all the cute pink puppy stuff?>? What!? It was expensive beside he out grew it. When I said he ppl were like uh okay...since I have made a point to be as blue green guy like as possible in his clothing etc and NOW ppl ask what sex he is...go figure! |

Haha! I don't blame you!!!:D:D:D I confess I have put Max's hair in a top knot and he looked just like a girl! Also, bought him a jumpsuit on YT and....yes, also looked like a girl. Pet Peeve...."Why does he have so many clothes?" :p |
I also hate when people say " It's just a dog " Your dog may very well be just a dog however, Millie is my daughter shejust happens to be ver harry and walk on all fours:p |
pet peeves It irritates me when people say my two babies aren't yorkies because of their size and weight. Bandit is 10 lbs and I know he is a yorkie because I saw his parents and they both only weighed 4 1/2 lbs mom, and dad was 4 lbs. Sassy was rescued from a puppy mill and she weighs 16 lbs. they are both my babies and even if they werent yorkies , which they are I would still love them. |

I was asked when I was out in the front yard with Bailey today by a neighbor..."oh lord what did you get yourself into? How much did that set you back?" I didn't even know what to say! I just brushed it off and talked about how cute he was. :) |
I was walking my pup, Olive, by the lake one day when a jogger passing by asked "how many batteries does that thing take??". I was so shocked I just stood there with my mouth open as he went by. The nerve of some people... |

Its not a saying as much as a look. When I explained about YT to a vet, brought a thread from YT printed out to a specialist, when the apolstry girl and the bakery girl both talked about "teacups" I corrected them and told them about YT...worst is talking to yorkie breeders and they get a glazed look and crack a smile like I told a joke. Some people are really missing the point and missing out. |
I get annoyed when people try and give me dog advice when they've never had yorkies Some stuff is ok, but I had a vet tech tell me my dog probably had mange, and all it was was his puppy fur coming out. I also get annoyed when people try and get me to treat Jaeger like he is wash and wear. "What do you mean you have to go home and let the dog out?" The biggest one people give me crap about is the fact that I hand feed my dog. It's not any of their business, he eats 1/3-1/4 a cup at a sitting, and it gives me quality time to train my dog. I'm ADHD, it helps my sense of schedule if I train and feed him at the same time. Also, he's highly food motivated and has a sensitive stomach. This works for us, so back off, people! *winks* |

I took Tufty out for his first walk ever and of course he's a little reluctant, this woman says he looks scared you should pick him up. I responded no he needs to become accustomed to his surroundings and felt like picking her up and throwing her in traffic. Hasn't anyone heard the phrase if you have nothing nice to say then shut yer face |
another pet peeve Just because I have a wee dog, doesn't entitle your children to touch it. Had my dogs been dobermans I'm sure your kids would not be interested at all in my dogs. So when I say no your kids can't pet my dogs don't draw me dirty looks, do I walk up to you and say oh your kids are cute can I pet them and play with them, you'd be on the phone to the police. My dogs have plenty of human friends and my neighbours kids to play with, they don't need yours. |

We live in a townhouse community with no amenities, and the kids like to come sit in our yard because we have a utility box. I find it highly annoying, they leave trash everywhere, they are loud, and they want to bother me every time i leave the house because i have this adorable puppy. That, and when we come home they bother us too and I'm trying to juggle a dog, and my needs, and my aspergers/ptsd partner who needs to destress after every outing and needs me to help him. It gets on my nerves. HOWEVER, i appreciate that they swarm my dog even though I hate it. He has become SO much more well behaved and is learning to sit quietly and not jump all over them. They surround him and close him in and he just LOVES it. He gets such a kick out of all the attention. Its good for him-he's learning manners for his CGC test, and it helps reinforce to me that seeking to get him therapy dog tested is not just something I want but he'd want, too. It stresses me out, but he loves it. |
Same here Jada is my child plain and simple. Call me crazy I dont care. So what she's small, she's healthy and happy. When we go out everyone's like aww look at the puppy:confused: Lol she will be 5 in Aug. People need to watch what they say. I would never make a derogatory comment about someones:aimeeyork. My mother in law say's Jada is spoiled O well so be it. For the life of me I dont understand why some people even have :animal36. If your gonna leave them outside all day feed them crap:eek: like what's the point. How come people dont make more of a fuss about that:mad: |
From what I've read teacup was a made up term to sell the runt of the litter for a higher price. We love our babies whatever size they are. Society has this image of these li'l dogs, Lil skinny women, like get real. Yorkies should not be bread to be super small. It's not safe for the mom and tiny babies can have extra health issues. Jada is 4lbs. I did not set out for a "teacup" just a yorkie. They are beautiful no matter what size:D |
My pet peeve? When Sydney gets all the attention because she's tiny and I think poor Annie she has sooooo much to offer, too. Also when, usually men, say "what's that a rat? Grrrrrrr |
Omg I  the rat comments. Someone called Jada a water rat:eek: Just mean! |
Reading these rants let me know I'm in the right place. |

I agree with you all... I had a man scoff at my bentley while walking him. He told me he must be a GIANT breed yorkie... He wasnt even three pounds, amnd just has poofy hair... Then yesterday got told by my "step-brother" who is 30 and also an idiot, that bentley is not a "real" dog because hes so small... I said, Well hes MYYY baby, not yours anyways, so i dont really care what you think... I do NOT understand some people |
