They just did the 30 minute phone interview, and it seems I passed. Next thing is a home visit. :eek::eek::eek:
I have yet to tell my father I am interested in getting this little girl. I think he's going to faint when I tell him I want to add to our yorkie family. :p

oi, not to be mean or anything but you really should tell you dad soon (especially if he lives with you) a new addition isn't just a cute picture, and she's SO cute, the whole fam. needs to be on board.

That is a neat picture. If your father lives with you , then it is a good idea to let him know .That sweet little girl is adorable. It would be hard for me to walk away from her . If your not ready tell the rescue group before they schedule the home visit. If you are ready and want to give her a great home, I say go for it , just let everybody who lives with you know . I think with a yorkie like that everybody will need to be involved , she will need all the love and patience she can get from as many people she is around . Are you going to schedule the home visit?

I have to wait for Kaos to get his rabies booster in a week, before they will even do it. They told me to give them a call when I am ready. They are aware that I have to get the green light at home to go ahead any further. :) Yes, he does live with me, but he already knows that I'm "interested". LOL :p

The PetFinder out here wher ei live never has yorkie's , I think she would be very hard to pass up . I think with plenty of TLC and patience she will be a great addition to your family :)

Well no little sister for Kaos. They sent me an email saying I can't adopt her because I'm not over 25yrs old. LAME :(

They just have a minimum age requirement? That is higher than being a legal adult. Higher then being able to get married and have kids. Higher than being able to fight & die for your country? Ridiculous!

I know I'm 21, and did 3 years in the Army and they disqualified me for that. I wish at least they would have told me that during phone interview, so I didn't get my hopes up. :( They told me it was posted somewhere on there site, I guess it's my fault I missed it.

There are reasons for rules. Yes, it is posted on their web site. Under adoption policies.

Yup I found it now too. I understand there are reasons for rules, but I don't agree with their reasoning. Not EVERY one under 25 isen't stable enough to care for a rescue yorkie, I think it should be on a case by case basis. Not the deal breaker. Just my opinion though.

??? renting a car? Never heard of this. My kids are 19 & 21 and routinely rent cars while on spring break. Infact my son (19) is driving home from university tonight to fly to Florida first thing in the a.m. for his uncle's funeral and will be picking up his rental car at the airport.

25 is the standard age for most rental car companies. Some will rent a car to an 18-25 year old for VERY steep fees. Maybe it's a regional thing. I know around here, virtually no companies rent cars to anyone under 25. Even if you total your car and your insurance company would pay for the rental, you're technically not allowed to drive it if under 25.

Rescues have rules in place for a reason. You may think it's ridiculous, but rescues are very, very invested in the placement of their pups.

aww, im sorry it didn't work out. That is a little high for the age requirement, most rescue's agree on 21yrs and older. I agree it should be a case-by-case basis, especially since you spoke on the phone with them. However, since you live with your dad I don't know why they didn't talk to him too. Either way I'm sure another opportunity will present itself in time, don't lose hope for Kaos :)

Yes I know, and you are right. :thumbup: That was me just being bummed after finding out. :( I understand they have the pups best interest in mind.

I know that you know. :) And I'd be bummed too. It's too bad they didn't realize your age before beginning the interview process. I would hate to have my hopes up and then be disappointed.
