Where the Money Is!?? Okay folks, I've tried to be nice and I certainly support all rescues for all creatures, but...FU.R.R. is singling out our breed and OUR rescue and posting things on the Park Chevrolet website that are way out of line. Their latest was, "Everyone loves Yorkies, but it takes a special kindness to prepare once-feral kitties for life in a forever home, and F.U.R.R has stepped up to the plate to do just that. Please folks, go where the money isn't and help to make this a better planet for everyone"... . REALLY....REALLY??? Just goes to show how little some people know !! How many of you have read unbelievible threads on YT of injured, abandoned and seriously ill little Yorkies that without places like Yorkie Haven Rescue would have NO chance of life at all! We are NOT "the money", we are simply people who care and will fight diligently for these wonderful babies. Please help. If any of you have stories that need to be shared, please go to Park Chevrolet Charlott and tell your story. Let people know just what kind of people Yorkie and Yorkie Talk people are and VOTE! https://www.facebook.com/ParksChevro...a6efe1%22}#_=_ |
I don't get it, I must be missing something but I don't understand how anyone who rescues any animal put down ANY group that rescues??? If you have the heart to rescue one creature surely you believe ALL are entitled to being rescued??? And certainly wouldn't want to take away from any creatures chance at a life! :thumbdown |
Love For Yorkies Isn't Enough! Everyone may love Yorkies but some don't treat them with any love and leave some pretty pathetic little tiny babies out there all alone and helpless - old, so ill, injured, rotten teeth, wet/cold/matted, abandoned to the roadside - you name it. If it weren't for YHR, many a pitiful little Yorkie would be dead - or worse - living but pretty much on its own until it does alone and miserable. I'll bet those little guys in such trouble don't feel very loved! Plus, I've read so many, many threads where YHR is doing so much to help our own members in situations with their dogs and helping other situations where they hear of an animal in trouble. It takes so much love, patience, fortitude, guts, medical knowledge, mental anguish, time, money and mercy to do what they do every single day. I'm saying this all pretty badly but it makes me pretty mad to hear that some think all Yorkies all have life so great. If we really love this breed - and we do - keep voting and begging for votes no matter what. Thank God for Yorkie Haven Rescue! Let's vote them into that prize! :yorkieg: |
I have to agree, how can a rescue try to discredit another rescue? Seems their energy would be better spent doing something else and be happy they are giving YHR a run for 1st place. As much as I want YHR to win 1st place I think any place would be a welcome donation. This post brought to you by a Yorkie owner and a rescued cat owner. |

I don't have FaceBook nor will I sign up for it, I don't do sites like that or My Space or Twitter either, too many things can happen, so I can't see what they have said, but this just nonsense. |

The amazing part if that the women that are doing the YHR bashing are the BOARD MEMBERS OF F.U.R.R.! I just cannot believe what I read yesterday before it was pulled off the Park Chevy wall. I love all animals and it breaks my heart to see any suffer. Other rescues have posted pictures on the wall and I always try to say a kind work and wish them well. |

EXCUSE ME ? Giving is a personal choice. We are all bias and look at things with our own world view. It is sad that truly kind people who want to help animals, would say another charity, is not as worthy donation as theirs. I give to the Cancer Society, Saint Judes and YHR , all are worthy. Some one else may give to the March of Dimes and the Kidney Foundation. ALL GIVING IS GOOD. I am sure F.U.R.R. is a good charity, but some of their speakers have used poor judgment in soliciting votes, shame on them. I am proud of Yorkie Haven Rescue and the wonderful work they do. Everyone please Vote. |
At the least - the people posting negative comments are acting in a very immature manner. Sounds like sour grapes to me. Anyway, I thought all rescues were suppose to support each other, especially in public? |

Wow that is just awful. It really makes them look bad and whiney also. |

I am hopeful that the other group has learned a lesson from this. Perhaps they are young and/or new at rescue. They have apparently gotten enough feedback from people to cause them to remove all of the negative posts from their various pages. Hopefully the rest of the contest will be back to normal! I love seeing some of the rescue stories and pictures on the Parks FB page. :) It was so very nice and generous of Parks Chevrolet to host this contest. I do hope their experience does not prevent them from helping animal rescues in the future. |

Also wanted to add that the first thing I learned about animal rescue from you and from YHR is that each rescue saves animals and all of us should be supportive and positive of each other. Glad this group has removed the negative posts. |
As it stand now, 2842 votes for YHR and 2669 for F.U.R.R. Let's get YHR a greater lead! |
Bump just a reminder to vote for YHR every day, tell your friends ! So many Yorkies need help and we can make a difference. |
Done and pulled the rest of my family into voting as well. |
Bump,bump,bump...lol Go vote! |

Let me preface this by saying that I have and will continue to vote for YHR. That being said, are you really surprised that members of FURR feel as strongly about their organizations many do about YHR? Would you have reacted as strongly if one of the YHR posters had put up something similar about FURR? I ask this because I see this thread as being exactly the same as the one on FB; one rescue group looking down their noses and clucking disapprovingly about another. Maybe what they posted wasn't in the best taste or the smartest thing to say. But trashing them over here really is behaving in exactly the same manner, IMO. |
2930! :) |

surely it can be done  |

People have expressed their displeasure and that is entirely different than what those people of the other group did. No one has said they don't belong in the contest for whatever cracked up reason they could come up with...and no one said they are cheating. What they did was the equivalent of calling a race card imho. I do think that some have been very vocal here but I also think that they kept it amazingly clean. That group went beyond reacting strongly and trying to win. They used false statements and spoke disapprovingly of people saving yorkies....it was not "oh let's beat the yorkies and show them that cats rule". It was that yorkies are not worthy. That is how many read it. They said and I quote: "they cheated". That was after a statement that insinuated that we entered that contest under false pretenses. We did not "enter" anything...we received an email inviting us to participate. Parks picked us. Did you see all of the posts on their members' facebook pages? They were honestly VERY inflammatory and I am quite proud of the YHR members and YT members for not responding at those people's level. Let me further say that if a YHR member went on that page and said the things that those people did, there would have been a public apology from YHR. Yes, we would have reacted strongly. |

I just voted!!!! I declare this day to be a VOTING DAY!!! Everyone please take 1 minute and vote for YHR...Lets see how many votes we can cast for today!!! |
Our lead is slipping! There are so many wonderful people that has stepped up to the plate and will match or add to the donation if we can pull off this win. Come on folks! Let's help Yorkie Haven Rescue continue to do the wonderful work they do. Please vote! https://www.facebook.com/ParksChevro...a6efe1%22}#_=_ |

 The thing I like is we are YT. It is our forum we can express our private thoughts. We can disagree and still love, and respect each other. On the quote above I disagree. I DO agree with LadyJane's response. I think most of us have shown remarkable restraint and have been as fair minded as possible. What some of us were upset about, was not directed at the charity F.U.R.R. at all. It was about what one person said. I even stated in an earlier post, that giving is good thing, picking a charity to support is a personal choice, it is ok to as for votes. BUT, that someone speaking for F.U.R.R. was bashing other charities and 'shame on them'. That being said, I don't know how YT would be the wonderful learning, sharing, caring, support it is without, good people like Rhettsmama and Ladyjane to give us their experienced wisdom and sound advice. |
