I've been voting but not reading comments there. I am sad to hear another charity would down this one or any other! That shows they are not in this for the right reasons. They are making it about themselves instead of all of the animals in need. I wish each charity could win $500 to put to helping their animals! I will continue to vote for Yorkie Haven, but I wish them all well in their efforts.

I also made a few wall posts so that people could see the uglier side of yorkies in need! I know some may think yorkie and immediately think they all lead the pampered life of OUR yorkies. They need to SEE what happens when the greeders step in and forget that they are living creatures! As much as I hate those pictures, they needed to see them. Don't know if it will help, but can't hurt to raise awareness. I'll post the link on my Facebook wall again and keep my friends and family interested in voting each day. I agree w this. I would be just as taken back if that charity had badmouthed another rescue other than YHR. As far as I am concerned, God bless the ppl that step forward and care for all of these little creatures who have no voice or ability to help themselves.

On this very thread, people called them "whiny", "immature", questioned their character and then said it was hoped they had :learned their lesson." That to me is very much on par with what they were doing. It's just using the excuse "they did it first and they were worse..." I don't expect you to agree with me, I just believe that no matter how nicely you are trying to word it, it really is the same thing.


To be honest, doesn't that kind of make their point? Obviously, from the voting results, not everyone of the charities entered have the same resources and large support base that YHR has. There are multiple organizations on their that either haven't even broken double digit support or are in the low teens in their votes. Are these organizations any less deserving because they don't have a place like YT to drum up votes?


No doubt, what FURR did was wrong. I'm just saying that starting a whole thread about how wrong they were was not necessary and, in a way, is just as inflammatory as what they were doing. In fact, you could say it was a little catty (pun intended :rolleyes:)

Again, I don't expect anyone to agree with me. I was just hoping that I would have seen a little more positivity from the members of YT.

Why would anyone signal out Yorkies? I guess they think they dont have it bad ever, well maybe they should meet my Molly Joy and they would have a difference opinion then. All breeds, not just one, but all, need help. Some people really urk me.

I am amazed that you feel there was so much negativity... but hey...that is typical for an online forum. Everyone has their own opinions. I normally read and agree with your posts...this time...yep, you got it, I think you are wrong. I doubt that you saw anything that happened on those facebook pages...and I am quite sure if it affected you or an organization you represented you woujld have been very upset. It was not merely calling a member whiny...it was directly doing a race card type of thing and was out of line.

Honestly the ONLY things I am going to say here is that we don't have the resources you think we do. I am stunned by your remark and would love for you to see our books. AND see how many members we have...not so many and those we have work very hard and have done an awesome job trying to win this for the pups. Also, I am going to say that I DO hope they learned....YES I DO...because they got a LOT of feedback about their negativity and that is something they NEED to learn from. They could say that I am whiny...whatever they want to say....but to say that YHR CHEATED AND WAS NOT EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE IN THAT CONTEST was wrong...and YES I DO HOPE THEY LEARNED. They might win, but what a way to win...I would be ashamed if our group did that to win money. They say they are new at rescue...I honestly think that has nothing to do with it. It showed me what they are about...loud and clear. I don't think that being in rescue for a long time is what tells a person what is right or wrong in terms of competing. It was dirty pool.....and we did NOT respond in kind. We complained....oh YES we did....sometimes people need to vent.
