I did call and actually got to speak with the vet and not just a tech. This is what he said, the digging into the gums. Chloe had worse gums than Smokey so she got the antibiotic and pain meds. Smokey only got pain meds as he said 99% of the time they don't give antibiotic for neuter. Even though he also had a dental, his gums were not as bad. He also said something about not abusing the use of antibiotics too much. maybe if you give them when not completely necessary they get an immunity to it?

Anyway, both are doing fine. Smokey is still doing the butt up pose from time to time. Both are eating fine. Thanks everyone for the positive thoughts.:)

Wow, do you have you hands full, how's Uni with all of this, do you take everyone to the shop with you each day. Sorry, if you've answered all these questions before I'm taking care of a little foster and I haven't been on YT as much. Anyway, glad you got the answers you needed, and they are both doing well.

Funny that you should ask. Chloe just got hold of one of Uni's old wishbones. When they get old and dried up Uni won't touch them. But now that Chloe's into it, she wants it back. They started a little fake growl fight over it a few minutes ago. She's is totally Katie now. But yes all three are here at the shop. They are getting used to people coming in, but they love the attention from everyone. Poor Smokey in his pink princess kiss e cone LOL. Everyone thinks he's a girl and on top of that he has no more balls. :eek::p

Oh that's so sweet, what a good time for all, talk about socializing dogs, you have a perfect spot for it. I can just imagine Joey barking up a storm every time you got a costumer. How much would you charge to take Joey for a week? :D

Chloe is the town cryer. She barks when someone comes in, when someone is walking past outside, even when someone is leaving! LOL She has to give us status updates of everything. She starts up, then Smokey looks to her and he starts up, then Uni wants in on the action too! So I have to try my best to stop Chloe before I think she will bark, then that will get everyone to be quiet. It's a challenge to say the least. Another thing I have not been able to work on is their trick training. Chloe will sit, but Smokey is so timid, he just backs off. Then here's Uni on the side doing all the commands so she wants the treats. I think I will need to separate them during feeding and do one on one with them, otherwise it's never gonna happen.

My mind is on Halloween, plus I'm a lousy speller! Sounds like Joey who I can understand barking when he see people and when they come in, but he also barks when people leave, what's that about? I taught my foster to sit and stay, but I can't even teach him to lie down. Joey followed my hand movement and automatically laid down, but I can't get Ralphie to do it. It's really hard to train two at once, I think seperating them might be the anwer, I was able to get Ralphie to eat while Joey is doing his training, but I don't know how to get Joey to be patient while I'm training Ralphie.

It was impossible for us to train 2 at once and also My Jewels isnt as receptive to training as chachi so she takes more coaxing. We had to train separately

Yeah I don't understand the barking when they are leaving thing. :rolleyes: When did you take in Ralphie? What's his story? Is Joey doing well with him?

I've had Ralphie about a month now, his owner has some health problems and needs to concentrate on her own health at this time. He had been experiencing anxiety and panic attacks, but he's doing better all the time. I really thought Joey and he would play better, but so far they are just tolerating each other. My youngest son has a puppy, and both Joey and Ralphie will play with the puppy, lol, everybody loves puppies even other dogs! Anyway, people here at YT said, it will probably take at least 2 months before they play, and just be glad they aren't fighting. Joey will let me hold Ralphies chewing stick, while Joey lays on my stomach, which is more than I ever thought he'd do.

No biggie, my vet sends home Pnut with antibiotics.. he always tells me its good to do bc of all the stuff they got off the teeth!

I never thought about it that way. Will you take Kaji to socialize? He needs it REAL BAD!!!
