| Paisley 1st grooming is today! She has an afternoon appointment. I'm anxious to see how she's going to do. I'm just getting her trimmed up, not shaving her entire body. I hope she's good girl and tries to stand nicely. I'm concerned she's going to be afraid of the clippers though. Should I take some of her treats? Seems like she does better with brushing or anything if I treat her for being a good girl.

| Get your camera ready and remember to capture this milestone of her first grooming so you can look back at the photos in years to come. I was also very nervous about Howie acting up the first time he went to the groomers but he went over twice prior to the big day just for a 'little hour play date' so he cld get use to the environment before he actually went for his trim. He got use to the sound of the clippers, the other dogs etc. and she told me he was quite calm when the big day arrived. But as she told me, people wld be surprised to see how their dogs respond when their owners aren't around. Like children, they're less likely to 'act up' and take everything in their stride. Good luck and make sure to let us know how she gets on and don't forget the pictures !!! |

| Oh , okay..pictures.. I guess that's a must I'm going to stay at the groomer's while they do Paisley, but I'm going to be in the waiting room. I figure she'll do better if I'm not in the actual groom room. I've gave her 4 baths and dried her with the hair dryer each time. She is still afraid of the dryer although not as bad as she used to be. I'm not sure about the clippers. I gotta run.. I'll post pictures later!

| she will do just fine. you're very lucky to be able to stay with her, even though it's in a waiting room. i tried to find a place that would allow me to stay at the salon and wait for her but they all acted like i was crazy for my request. so we found a great groomer that has a mobile unit and grooms them right in my driveway. my grandmother lives in southern il and she says they don't have any mobile groomers down there. she stays with her little ellie at the salon too. can't wait to see the pics!

| Lola had her first grooming at 3 months when i got her home a week later. My girlfriend did it and she did so good, here are pictures. I took her the next time to Petsmart, bad idea. She hated it, ahted the buzzer, hated that i wasnt there with her, so now i groom her myself until she is older or until i find one that will let me stay with her |

Thank you! For me I have learned that she will sit nice when with me or if i am in the room. Take me out of the equation and i get the call of "sorry but you have to pick your pup up now she wont let us buzz her" etc. she doesnt do well with grooming when i am not around | |

| Well, we're back. Paisley HATED being clipped. She whined and even some loud high pitch cries. I was right there though and I was peeking around the corner watching her. I don't think the groomer was hurting her at all. I think Paisley was just scared and not liking it. I didn't have her to do a lot of clipping.. just "clean her up" feet, private areas, around eyes and she evened up the coat a bit. So there's not a huge diffrence in the way she looks. Okay pictures... before we went... Paisley with Erin (groomer)... When we got home... I know this picture sure doesn't show the difference very well. The other one I took is too blury to post.... I'll take some better one's later.. she's tired from her big day and sleeping right now.
