Im going to talk to her about it, she is actually coming to my place after the vet, since its right near my house. Im going to talk to her a little about the safety of her, and her pet, and feel out the situation. I most def. cannot mention divorce though. We are military spouses and her husband is in the same unit as my husband, and my husband is the higher ranking officer, on my part, it would not be a good idea to mention that. I will keep everyone posted, the vet appointment is in one hour, so hopefully everything goes well. Well I have a thread open, I guess I will mention my Pup Kimchi had all his baby teeth removed yesterday, 19 of them! he is doing well today, yesterday he seemed achey but im so glad he no longer has his "shark teeth". |
Hope your little Kimchi is feeling better now and recovers from all of the teeth pulling. (BTW -- cute name but I sure do not like that stuff! Too sour for me. Makes a great pup name though!) As far as your friend's situation, I cannot comment too much as we don't know all of the facts. No matter how good a spin though, this guy cannot be so rough with a tiny living being like that! Maybe he understands that now and realizes how horrible his actions were. We can hope. But it might be a good time for her to think about finding a safer home for the little one. She will have to make a huge decision based on what she knows about her husband and how much she thinks he can or cannot be trusted to have a repeat of this situation. I hope she can do the hard thing if it is needed and find her little pom a new home. All you can do is give her support and offer to help rehome if that is what she decides. |
Aww poor baby! I hope she get it to the vet soon! |
Oh my goodness I feel so sorry for this poor baby and hope her exam at the vet has a positive outcome. Please talk your friend into giving this baby all her love!!! |

If she chooses to stay with this man, I would strongly encourage her to re-home the puppy. Regardless of whether he was aware of how fragile this little one is, he physically punished the dog (never appropriate) for doing something that was developmentally appropriate. This is a very young pup with little bladder control. Like someone else mentioned, it's akin to punishing a baby for throwing up on him. I think you're right to be concerned for your friend's safety, as well. Her husband is definitely someone with violent tenancies. I hope this all works out well for the pup and your friend. |
I am so sorry for your friend and her baby. Please let us know how the little one and your friend are. |

It is sad that it had to end this way. I am not going to judge anyone here. I hope the puppy is going to be okay. Please don't jump on me for saying this. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and I believe in second chances. Rehoming this baby will be devastating to the wife. Why does she have to suffer because of her husband's actions? I know he punished the puppy in the wrong way and took his anger out on something so fragile and helpless but people lose their tempers now and then. I'm not saying that what he did is okay. I guess my point is that the wife should talk to her husband and they together can figure out the best situation for themselves. |

That poor little thing! Someone should smack the S*** out of him and throw him down a flight of stairs |
That's sad!! Does he think those babies come potty trained? Can you imagine "spanking" a tiny 2 lb dog? You mind as well call it a beating! Some ppl don't have patience. My best friend's husband is not an animal lover at all....he loves kicking the family cat off the porch like a football.... There's something wrong with someone like that...... |
