I'd say yes it is. Yorkies take absolutely everything so personally and she certainly smelled the other dog and is dealing with it how she knows to do it. |

Little girl is jealous! And she must be a mind-reader too ~ she knows you are thinking of bringing another one home. One thing Lucy's breeder did for us is send a toy home with Lucy's scent on it - a few weeks before we ever brought her home. We played with the toy with Ringo and put it in his crate so he would be used to her scent before she ever came home. Not that we still didn't have our issues ~ but maybe it helped a little bit. |
It's true that scent is about half of a dog's life. I have taken in cats and they will reject any new cat that enters the home until it has totally taken on the scent that they are used to. Since you cannot bath a cat that is not used to being bathed we wipe them down with vinegar and water and then wrap them in a blanket that has the scent of the house in it. That speeds up the process. Since dogs are more social than cats it might be good to introduce your dog to the new one in a place outside the home where your baby is not the boss. If your little one usually accepts other dogs pretty well you should have no problem with them meeting on neutral territory. |

Go for it!! Go for it!!! :D:D:D:D Tell DH I am cheering him all the way!! :D |
Kacee is very jealous and if I've been holding and petting another little dog in her presence, then she gets mad at me. She won't even take a treat from my hand. I have to wash my hands really well before I offer a treat.:D |
