Is your Yorkie a Sleep-In'er or Early Riser? Jackson loves to sleep in, as do I :p He's definitely on my "college student schedule". Probably about two days a week, we sleep until at least 11am. I let him out around midnight usually.... my mom, sister, and stepdad all leave around 9am and Jackson just snoozes through all the commotion... lol. Most other mornings we are up around 9am. But every morning I wake up to him all sprawled out next to me, his head laying on the pillow next to me  and I have to wake him up... and he's VERY slow about it... looongggg stretch, a couple yawns, belly rubs, before actually getting up. He's okay with getting up early if we have to, though... sometimes when we are dogsitting, I have to get up at 6am and we'll go for a long walk that early and he's up for it, but in general... he likes to SLEEP IN!! |
ZoE's an early riser. She wants to eat her breakfast around 6:30 every morning...weekends included. If there's a way to train her to be a sleep-in'er on weekends and days off, I'd love to hear about it! |
Teddy is up before the sun, sitting at his window. Argh! Before Teddy came along, Max allowed me to sleep up until 9 am, if I wanted. Both of the boys want their breakfast and morning walk early. |
Callie is kinda both. If she hears my grandpa up sometimes she likes to get up early at 6:00 with him and he will hear her paw the door and let her out and she will go lay in her doggie bed near his chair and he will cover her up with her blankie and she sleeps while he drinks coffee and reads the paper. But must of the time we both wake up around 10 and she will come out of her soft doggie house stretch really big on the way to the door and maybe do one more stretch when she gets out of the door into the hallway and sticks her head in my grandparents room to see if they are in there if not continues to to living room. If we have to get up early she is like me hard to get moving lol I have actually had to unvelcro the top of her house and say hey little miss lazy time to get going and I keep bugging her till she gets up :D |
Paisley wakes me up early because she always has to go potty. if i want to sleep longer I just put her back to bed and she sleeps in:) |
Taycie wants her morning potty time and breakfast... Then she will go back to bed and sleep to 9 or 10.. But she has to have her breakfast at 7! During the work week I have to pry her out of bed to go to work, or she would sleep in:) |
Mine love to sleep in. They don't get up til they want to. |
:snore: poppy hates getting up early , she would stay in bed all day if you let her ;) she looks forward to a lie in on sunday :) love jill n poppy xx :aimeeyork |
Ahi LOVES to sleep in. On school days she reluctantly gets up because i'm not in the room with her. I'm getting the kids ready for school so she seeks me out. If it's the weekend and we have nothing to do, she will sleep next to me till I get up. :D My hubby tries to play with her before he goes to work everyday and that's right before 4am! She will look at him like.."really daddy?" LOL |
I have two early risers. We get up at 5am M-F because DH has to be at work by 6am. They hit the kitchen wide open for their breakfast and after DH leaves they pile up on their bed on the loveseat and sleep until I leave for work at 7:45. I think they sleep the majority of the day when we are at work, because they are wide open from the minute I get home in the evening at 4:30pm until about 10pm when they crash again. |
Sassy wakes me up between 2:30 am-3:30 am, jumping at the gate, then she gets the 3 others to help her, she can't stand for me to be away from her too long. |
I wish Bailey was a late riser. During the week, we wake her up and she always gives us this face like, "This AINT happen right now!" Her face all poofy from sleeping. During the weekend shes up at 7ish. I would LOVE for her to sleep in. But then she comes in after potty, goes to sleep till 11, then walk, then sleep till 3, then up the rest of the day! |
As i sit here typing, maddie is sleeping next to me under her blanket. she usually comes outta the bedroom about a hour after i get up, only to want under the blanket on the couch and sleeps a couple more hours. she will then get up go outside and take care of business, eat some breakfast and go back to bed for a few more hours. Dh and i said shes like a toddler. same thing happens in the evening, when its past her bedtime (9ish) she just zonks out wherever she is and you have to carry her to bed, if shes not already there. Shes gotta tuff life!:) |
Sophie Kate is an early riser, usually just a potty break but by 6:30 am at the latest. Usually she will go back to sleep for a few hours but I just stay up, unlike her once I am up I stay up. |
Max is most definitely and early riser!! he's up no later than 7:00 every morning. |

Kaos is the same way!! |
Mina lays in my lap in the morning, until one of the other dogs is ready to go out. This morning I got up early, tucked her in and she slept in our bed alone for about 30min,then moved to my lap. She and I are NOT morning people. |
Brutus is a good sleeper, we got to bed about 10pm during the week, and when my alarm goes off at 5 am, he gets up and starts licking my face. I am no longer able to hit snooze, because once he wakes up he needs to go potty- like now! I have set off the house alarm a few times by trying to get him outside ASAP - my husband loves it when that happens. lol. After potty he eats breakfast and then goes to his doggy bed. A pretty decent schedule, imo for such a young dog. |
if Im in bed, so are they. Mine sleep in a crate next to my bed and as soon as I get up in the a.m, which is 530ish to get the kiddos ready for school on the week days and about 830/9 on the weekends, they whine to wanna come out. :).. MY elder Sheltie starts whining to go out as soon as he hears someon, so usually my hubby lets him out in the a.m on weekdays, the kids on the weekend.. so I guess I have them pretty much trained to my schedule..:) |
Sadie and Scooter will sleep as long as I want to but Thor and Little bit are up at dawn wanting to go out and eat. I get up early with the girls to get them off to school. Sadie and Scooter will climb back in their little beds and Thor and Little bit commense to tearing the house apart. It was so cute yesterday, I was on the computer working and Scooter kept coming and scratching on my leg, I finally got up and followed him and he led me right to the living room where Little Bit was tearing up a book. Scooter told on him lol |

It depends. Geno will sleep in during the weekends when we're off work or any days that we are off of work. When we have to get up early, he enjoys running amok around 4am and waking us up. Little bad baby! But then he gives his mommy kisses and says me sorry but i'm hyper. Then i'm like tehehe I love you! We call him our little sour patch kid cause first he's sour, then he's sweet :) |
Tibbe usually sleeps in if I do but he goes to bed about the same time each night - between 9 - 10 p.m., no matter when I do. Even if I stay up late, though Tibbe is with me, he's usually counting sheep most of the time if it is after 10 p.m. |
Ours do what we do and we are early risers. They know thats when they get their breakfast also |
Levi is 100% an early riser. We used to get up at 6:30 AM every day, and he would be licking my face at 6:25 every morning to go potty and have breakfast. We've recently have a schedule change, and I have to wake up at 5:30 AM most days. Levi is loving this. He now wants to get up at 5:30 every single day. I tell everyone that when you're that happy to be alive, you want your day to start as early as possible. :p |
Maci will sleep ALL day lol unless we go outside, then she could go on a walk all day long she loves being outside. She will play with a squeak toy every once in awhile... but mostly she loves to curl up with me when I'm on the computer and sleep haha. No wonder she's so tubby!! |
I have one of each. Bubba is an early riser. He starts moving around about 5:45a, which is the time I get up on work days but he thinks I should work every day and wants to get up. Sissy will stay under the blankets until I get out of bed. |
Oliver is a sleeper just like his mama! He sleeps as long as I sleep... I love it! If I have to get up early for work he actually huffs at me when I get him up to go outside! Sometimes if I have a really early meeting I actually go to the hospital (its 2 minutes from my house) attend the meeting and go back home...to find my Oliver still suggled in his bed in my room... hasn't even moved! |
Roxy definitely wants to sleep in. Just up for potty outside, then back to sleep... unless someone is up & showing any signs of going somewhere, then she'll stay awake or partly awake just in case she gets to go too. Her morning nap favorite spot is up on the top of the back of a recliner. |
Oh I long for the day I can sleep past 4:45 or 5:00. Thor is an early riser and shows no mercy :( |
