Does anyone know how to make these beds? I've been wanting one of these Puppy Pawd/Cinch beds, but everywhere I've seen them they are over $100 and I'm not going to pay that. Link... http://www.chicoandmilos.com/category-52-puppy_pawd_dog_beds.html another... http://www.bloomingtailsdogboutique.com/item_3106/Brownie-Puppy-Pawd--3-in-1-Dog-Bed.htm and another... http://www.codyandcarlsblvd.com/Dog-Beds.html So last night I was over in Evansville, IN. and went to Hobby Lobby and I bought some fabric. I thought I might try and make my own. I have looked online for a pattern but haven't found anything. |
I found this page that has a picture of one of them layed flat where you can see more how it is made... # Luxury Pawd Dog Beds - Tiny Teacup Puppies For Sale |

I know! They look very comfy! |
They don't look to hard to make with the draw sting in them |
lol string not sting |
Well that's what I thought when I first seen them, but I don't know where to start.. Do I just cut out my circle and sew it all together and stuff it like you would a pillow (allowing for the draw-string of course) and then sew my lines to make the different sections? I just don't know. I can sew a little but I'm no real "know how" when it comes to sewing. |
I found a pattern for one.... but I haven't made one yet...lol. |

Oh really! Where did you find your pattern if you don't mind me asking? |
one of my yt friends makes beds like this.. Normarae68 (Sherry). She sent one as a ge gift and I LOVE it |
I also was going to suggest contacting NormaRae63 for one of these beds. I don't think anyone else is currently making them on YT. I have the pattern as well but I'm not taking on all those pieces  and will stick with clothing and sanitary products for now. |
These beds are beautiful. I was also looking at one and found the price a bit too salty at first. But for someone who can not sew and considering there must be a lot of work to make one it may be the only option left is to pay the price. I just bought a few supplies and i am adding as my puppy grows. I have heard yorkies do not like Zippers, that is what caught my attention about this bed. |

Do you know what she charges for one? I already bought my fabric and ribbon and it was almost $30. I have a box of stuffing. If I had a patten, I could make it. Could someone tell me where you found your pattern? please? :) |
The fabric store has these beds in their pattern book. I'm pretty sure I saw this bed in our Wal-Mart pattern book too, but I can double check for you today if you want, since I'll be going there to look see if they have gotten any Christmas prints in yet. |

Well that's awful nice of you! :) I don't want you to go out of your way and waste a lot of time looking, but if it's quick and easy for you to look that would be great! Thank you!!! Does all Walmarts carry patterns now that they have done away with selling fabric? I done a search online for a pattern. I searched under "cinch dog bed" and "puppy pawd dog bed" and "dog bed". I came up with stuff for other kinds of beds but not this one. |
It is Simplicity pattern # 3906. It also has a pattern for a sack style bed that Ziva loves.(no stuffing- good for dogs that are destructive!!) |

Oh Thank you!!!!!!!!:) |
If you don't have access to a fabric store they have this pattern on ebay http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...All-Categories |
I buy most of my patterns when Hancock or Joann fabrics have a $1.99 special.Check online or sign up for mail flyers.. |
Thanks Shinja ;) I can tell you these are very labor intensive. Plan on at least a few hours. I used a Simplicity pattern as was mentioned earlier. |

I just asked my sister if she would help me. She can sew pretty good. She's a school teacher so she doesn't have time to do a lot of sewing but said she would help me. I can sew, but I'm not an expert. |

Wow~you spent $30 on fabric  Plus a pattern and fiber fill. I sew too and have this pattern. It's a very labor intensive project that I decided not to even attempt to undertake. Plus with a YT vendor selling them I'd rather pay her to make one for me. I've seen Sherry's work and it would be well worth the few extra dollars to just purchase one. |

I don't even know how much YT member Sherry charges for these beds. ...so I don't have any idea what amount "a few extra dollars" is. I just knew I didn't want one bad enough to spend over $100 on one which is what the one's cost that I seen already made. I understand it might be a difficult pattern, but I've got the stuff so I'm gonna at least give it a try. I'm sorry if it upsets anyone that I've decided to try making this myself  |

If it turns out to be nice, I'll post pics! |
I just made this bed last saturday. It was super easy and only cost for everything 43.00 I have pictures on my album. The only thing i didnt do was put the stiches to make it look like it had flower petals. I thought because of the minky type fabric, what was the use, u wouldnt be able to see it anyway but those stiches help the bed keep its shape. The black fabric was pricey at 14.99 a yard, but its so soft I couldn't resist, and. Its a lot cheaper than buying one already made. My co worker wants me to make one for her pup. I already have an order haha. |

That's great!!! I'll see if I can find it in your album, I'd love to see it! :) I also bought the real soft mink-like fabric and I paid $12. a yard for it. Only for one side. I bought less expensive fabric for the other side. |

Anyway, the pattern that I think is a Simplicity or maybe McCalls was fairly easy to do. The time consuming part was mapping out the area\'s that you sew to make the petals. Oh and the grommets were fun...I ended up putting them on the side that I had intended as the lining...but, no biggie. One of these days...I\'ll get my stuffing and stuff the beds and who knows...maybe I\'ll get around to taking a pic and show off what I did...lol:aimeeyork ps...Abby & Bella & Pheebs are glaring at me for making them wait a minute longer for their beds... |
