If you've bathed him 3 time... have you used a drying agent in his ears? It's possible if the smell is coming straight from his ears that it could as simple as an ear infection (which could be caused from water getting in their ears, or from food). A vet can take one wif of the ear and a swab and tell you if that's one problem. That could also cause itching... Just another option to think of.. For shampoos, if you can afford it, I recommend Isle of Dogs, it's a "salon" quality shampoo, you dilute it and it lasts a while, but it's expensive (or at least it is in Canada, I have to buy it at my vets). If not and you need something cheap and smelly, I used to use Mane and Tail, you can buy it at walmart in the people hair product section, or any horse store. It's designed for horses, but people use it too, and it's soft so it can be used on dogs. |

Is this a puppy we are discussing or an older dog? Puppies are so close to the ground and always getting into their pee and poo and things in the yard that they need bathing a bit more often. If you have a puppy make sure you use a puppy shampoo that is PH balanced to be less harmful to the skin and coat. If this is an older dog bathing is also in order but how often would depend on the condition of the skin. If the dog has dry skin you need to use products made for dry skin. A good healthy diet is very important in order to produce healthy skin and coat. Usually cheaper grocery store foods are full of fillers and byproducts that are not good for your dog. There is a lot of info about diet in the health and diet section of YT.:) |
