Congratulations! She's a little sweetheart and should be great company for Chloe. I am sorry for your loss of your little one though. I hope you will enjoy many years with your girls :) I brought our Sophie home at 8 weeks and she did great without any issues. If I got another puppy though I would now wait 12 weeks after being better educated on YT. Hope you'll post often and post pictures of your girls growing up :) |
I got my Little Sophie when she was just a little over 6 weeks. Her breeder was going to theirs sons wedding out of town. They were going to be gone for a while. She asked if I would want to take her early. She had someone lined up to watch them. She just felt that I would take just as good of care of her as the other person. So I said yes. She did just fine. She is a whopping 2 to 2 1/2 pounds. A bundle of love and energy. |
1 Attachment(s) She is so funny the way she is running around. Chloe is scared of her, LOL |
Congrats! Hope you share more here (especially pics) and take the time to become very informed. YT is the best place for Yorkie awareness & with getting one so young taken from mom you may see many behavioral affects of such.Sorry you like so many including me seem to have supported a Greeder. WOW your Yorkiepoo looks like a purebred Yorkie to me do you have more pics of the Yorkiepoo? |

You would swear I have a new Grand Baby, LOL. The way I am taking photos and videos of her. She was 8 weeks yesterday, we have had her a week now. When she potties on the floor we pick her up and carry her to the potty pad, and tell her to potty on the pad. She went to the pad by herself yesterday 4 times and twice today, but she did get the floor too several times. Earlier today I showed her how to climb the five tier puppy steps to get into our bed. An hour later she was got in the bed by herself. I wish there was a way to Post that video here. It is shocking how something so tiny and only 8 weeks old is so smart. |
A new baby around may be just what Chloe needs, and maybe you too. One doesn't replace another, they just help you through the rough times. |

Well Miss Sasha went to the Vet today for her weigh in, 9 week check up and her 9 week shots even though she will not be 9 weeks until Saturday. She weighs a whopping 1 pound 2 ounces. The Vet said she was in EXCELLANT shape. I am trying to find her a light collar. I measured her neck, loose enough for here to breathe is 3.5 inches. I can not find one anywheres, I even tried a ferret collar and it was to big at its shortest setting. |
Most people her do NOT use collars, many whom do use cat (try kitten) break-aways because of CT issues Yorkies are highly susceptible to. Have you considered a harness? Note Dr. Dodd shot protocol too. You sound like such a proud papa! It's so cute! Maybe you missed it before I noted I was shocked the pic was a Yorkie-poo your other dog looks very Yorkie, are you sure? |
Hi ya concrete girl. Chloe' is our 5 year old Yorkiepoo. The only thing poodle on her are the floppy poodle type ears and her hair is wavey, but not curly like az poodle. Plus her hair feels like fine silk. The Yorkie gene is definitely dominant. She is beautiful also. I call her Daddys big girl. |
2 Attachment(s) Just an update on Sasha Belle, the new Baby. She has had her 12 week shots and a total check up with the Dr. She is a whopping 1 pound 8 ounces. The vet knows her Pedigree on both sides and told us that they were all exceptionally healthy Yorkies. He does not think Sasha will reach 2 pounds full grown. She is doing the 5 puppy steps in and out of bed as well as the puppy door to the backyard. The backyard has a Hurricane fence all around but Sasha can walk through the square openings. So I spent 3 days last week putting a 12 inch high strip of rabbit wire/hardware cloth all the way around the yard. |
I'm sorry, but it sounds like you are making the best of it & luckily she's healthy thus far. Still just her being so small makes the special needs. |
I've heard that some people use ferret harnesses on their little ones until they grow into a regular puppy harness. Yorkies do tend to have sensitive throats. My little one does wear a collar in order to have her ID tag on but I use a harness to take her on walks. Sounds like Sasha is a little live wire and like most Yorkies. You may be able to post your video on another site like Youtube and then post the link to it. I used to have a little Maltese named Sasha. It's a lovely name. |
She is such a tiny lovebug and so cute :) |
Gracie that is what we had to do. A ferret halter was the only thing we could find to fit her. I sit here laughing at Sasha playing tug of war with Chloe', Our 12 pound 6 year old Yorkiepoo. Chloe' is so protective of her new baby sister. |
