please help me i need some opinions!! 1 Attachment(s) hi to all, i would like please someone give me an opinion to this that is happening to me! yesterday i adopted my second "yorkie" he is 11 months 3 pounds but he is not what i was looking for cause in the classified picture he was completely different! his ex-owner said that the dog has been poisoned by poison ivy and because of that the dog is shaved and with a skin rash. another thing is that i am not sure if he is a pure breed he is supposed to be a yorkie but some things put me in doubt!! his ears are down and his tail is not docked his ex owner said that the dog was born in Germany and there is not legal to cut the tail (i was living in Italy and there is not legal too and i know that in some countries of europe is the same thing) but i still concerned about certain things and i dont know if he is a mix or pure!!!and the worst thing is that i dont have his shot records i dont have anything about him his ex owner said that today is gonna send me the papers (i hop) at least im gonna see his birthday!... what do you think? anyone with a similar story? please give me some advices some opinions :( im gonna load a picture of him so u can see!! |
He looks yorkie to me. Plenty yorkies ears are down, it can be fixed when there puppies by taping them up. I think she gave you a good enough reason why the tail was not docked. He just looks like he needs a good case of TLC and to gain some weight. (he looks kind of thin in that pic) |
My yorkie's ears are down. If it were me (although unfortunate) I would just give him lots and lots of love and help him with the transition of a new owner and family. Lots of luck! :) |
I see a Yorkie who just needs his coat to grow in and gain some weight and he will be a beautiful boy! Ears up or down, tails docked or not...it's the soulful look of this boy that is all that matters! PS. Also, be sure to take him in to your Vet asap and have any skin condition checked & have him neutered if he is not already. |
He looks like a yorkie to me. I think he is adorable! |
Oh, I think this "yorkie" is just darling. Look at his face...precious. I believe you will see a total transformation into a beautiful boy with good food, love and care. Can't wait to watch the little fella grow, be sure to posted pictures. :) |
He looks scared and a tad skinny in that picture but looks full Yorkie to me :) |
He is very cute! |
he's cute, when his hair growns in and some weight is gained he'll be adorable. I hear not all Yorkie's ears stand up. It's not too late to have his taped if you are really wanting that. I had Chloe's one ear taped. I viewed on utube how to do it...it's simple...just some cardboard and medical tape to prevent them from pulling...shave those little ears...tape them...and they will stand up. I suggest not even trying this for a while until you have that trust bond built, not that it hurts them, but as fragile as the dog is right now...it could be a bit much for him. |
thanks to all u guys . me and my family will give him a lot of love and the care he deserves i will work on his weigh. his ex owner said that the first 9 months of his life were so bad poor thing. anyway his first night with us was great!! he is very sweet thank u for the all replies . i'll let u know more about him in a few days or weeks :) |
All Yorkie. How does his skin look now? I don't see any problems in that picture. Unless there is something that I can't see, I'm guessing that he didn't have poison ivy at all ... and that they probably had to shave him because he was badly matted, they just didn't want to tell you that they hadn't been maintaining his coat properly. |
well he has a little rash and some littles brown spots, his ex owner said that he been in a antibiotic treatment but i dont know if the poisoning was true or not!! anyway im gonna take care of his skin and maintain his coat properly :) |
1 Attachment(s) He looks all Yorkie to me!!!! I think floppy ears are sooo cute! Also my Tibbers also has his tail!!! Makes me kinda sad for Bella who doesn't! |
he definately looks yorkie to me. My girls ears are down too. I wish my girls had a tail, I love yorkies with a tail. He is adorable!!!! |
Oh my goodness what a sweet precious baby. He certainly is a Yorkie. I have one that has a Full Tail. His eyes just speak to you. Give that baby lot's of love. |
He looks lie a sweet yorkie to me. I can't wait to see his transformation after being with your family and getting all the love he deserves! I look forward to more pictures of your sweet boy. |
for sure i will give him lot of love, i appreciate all comments thank u guys :) |
all u helped me so much thank u ;) |
What a beautiful little Yorkie. Thank goodness he came to you. His tiny little face just pleading for love. In England - it's illegal to dock tails unless vet approved for the "job" they do. Harry's got his tail, and floppy ears - and we wouldn't change him for the world! Sally + Harry x |
He is darling and has such a sweet face! Congratulations :) |
That face! It sure can steal your heart! I am so glad you got him away from the people who were not giving him the care and love he needed! My remy's ears will flop down if I don't shave them..the weight of the hair pulls them down. When I have her groomed I am sure to have her nails trimmed and her ears shaved-- ever couple of months. |
Yep! He looks all Yorkie, to me!! Give him Lots of TLC and get him on a good diet and I am sure he will thrive... He has such a Sweet Face! = He really is "Adorable"!!!! :) |
yeah! u all are right, thank u for the support and for your nice words... in this 2 days this little baby is teaching me soo many things he is very sweet <3 and he is doing so good with my family and with my little Lizzy (female yorkie) |
He is adorable. My guess and that is all it is..... I am guessing that he was badly matted and had a flea problem. That would explain the skin issues and his weight some. A vet can check him for anemia from the fleas. It is so great to see when a baby who was not in a good home finally gets to a home full of love and attention. If you look at my avaitar you will see that one of mine also has floppy ears. If I shave them then they go up about half the time. But she is adorable and I love her no matter what position her ears are in. Best wishes for a quick transition! |
1 Attachment(s) yeah! i see your babies the are soo adorable. and u are maybe right about the flea problem . im gonna load the classified picture so u can compare if he is the same dog but anyway he is so cute |
He is sooo cute. I'm so glad he found a good home. Just keep loving him and he will transform into a real prince. You'll see. Even if he's not the dog in the classified which I think he is, he needs you and that's all that should count. |
He looks all Yorkie to me. Here is a great thread about many of the rehome and rescued little ones. It's amazing to see how they transform over time. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...ed-yorkie.html |
Not right about Papers Welcome to Yorkie Talk and congrats on your new Yorkie. EARS : I am sorry that you are having problems and doubts. I think your dog looks like a Yorkie. Ears up or down does not mean pure bred or not. I think your baby is very cute. If you want the ears up, check out the threads about ear taping. It might be better to put ear taping on hold until your little one adjusts to the new home. Registration Papers :The breeder should have given you the 'papers' when you got the puppy. Papers really are not necessary unless you are breeding or showing your dog. And having the 'papers' do not guarantee that a puppy is well bred, meets standard, is healthy or anything else. Sadly dishonest breeders can and do sometimes falsify papers. Skin / Fur : I can not tell by the pictures what is going on. I am sure your Vet can tell you about any skin problems. I do not work in the medical side of dog care. There are many others on YT that know much more than I do about medical issues. ( I have learned so much on here !) I hope they will post and help you out. Weight : I do agree the sweet baby looks thin, but again pictures can sometimes be unclear, a lot depends on the angle from which the photo was taken. |
