Potty Patch Worms??? 4 Attachment(s) We live in an apartment with no yard and we've been using the potty patch for 1.5 years and it's been working great. Well, lately when I clean it, I see worms!! It's SUPER gross! In the beginning, I only see dead ones, now, I'm seeing them alive and moving!! It creeps me out!! Does anyone else use the patch and have this issue as well? Any advice on what to do? The last thing I want is these things going into my babies skin (if they can). I have no idea what it is! :(:( Here's some pictures. ewww looking at it makes me feel they are crawling under my skin... |
Maybe they're actually maggots from flies that had gotten inside (ew, I know. Maggots are much smaller than full grown worms, so if they get larger it's gross. |
I am so grossed out. I tried to research this for you, and found that someone else experienced the same problem and asked an online vet about it. That vet suggested that the dog might have tapeworms. I'm not sure if you have your dog on prevention but if not it might be worth doing a fecal. Here is the link. I have an adult female dog who uses a potty patch in the - JustAnswer |
When you wash the grass would it hurt to use bleach on it then rince well before putting back down for the pups? Will they use papers or pads? That might bew safer. |
They don't look like tape worms but a fecal would rule that out. Or take one of the worms to the vet in a bottle & let him look. |
Nasty little critters...I agree just to be on the safe side, I'd do a fecal. Do you think they could transition to potty pads? |
 I would throw away the potty patch and have your pups tested. |

EWWWWW I agree throw that thing out and get the doggies tested. That gave me the willies looking at that. Now I feel like worms are crawling on me. |

Yikes! I would do what the other's said. Look like maggots but I think maggots are white. |

Those are maggots, and they will not hurt your babies directly. I don't know what a potty patch is but, if you wash it they will go away for a while at least. |
Ewl I would burn that thing and move out...lol |
bleck! I also agree!! Throw it out like yesterday! I don't know what a potty patch is?? i would also test the dog just in case. |
