Yardsellr Puppies For Sale? :(
 

Thought I'd seen it all but today I was looking through the pet supplies section of yardsellr on Facebook, when I noticed there were Yorkie puppies being sold there!! http://yardsellr.com/for_sale#!/yorkie-puppies-762495 Yes, for $500 and a click of your mouse, you can buy a yorkie! The seller is listed as Lori Deramus. You can even use your photons (free points worth money on the Facebook Yardsellr site) and you will get 300,00 some free photons just for making the purchase. SICK!

I included the link just to show it was being done but PLEASE if you are looking for a puppy DO NOT buy your family addition this way! No breeder that cared for their dogs would stoop to this sort of sales. If they don't care any more than this, what other things are they doing or NOT doing right with their breeding program and the care of their puppies? I guess this is not a lot different from the others who sell their puppies on Facebook news feeds and those that sell from a website with a credit card click and buy system. But I hope that MOST breeders are being more selective in who they sell their puppies to. This is how so many wind up being rehomed half a dozen times or wind up in rescues.

Sorry for the rant, especially when I post so seldom these days but this just threw me for a loop today and this was one place I knew would understand my frustration! Yorkie babies being sold on yardsellr (shaking my head sadly!)

I didn't see the other things -- I was still stuck on that adorable little puppy that she does not deserve to even have had for a while. I did see there are not lots of other dogs for sale there, even a horse and macaw! It must be fairly new as I had not seen live animals listed there before. But I haven't checked there for a long time either.

They may even wind up with good families but the idea of them being sold the same as those other items you all saw in her yardsale just makes my blood boil! It sends the WRONG message -- like they have no value or that living beings don't deserve something better!

There are plenty of breeders that use FB as a sales tool to peddle their puppies. Then migrate back and forth between there and YT. The other day on one of the YT pages on FB someone was trying to sell puppies too. It kept coming up in my notifications so I just removed it. :thumbdown

Thanks for making sure I kept a sense of humor about this. Sometimes that is all you can do. I did write to yardsellr and plead that they stop allowing live animal sales on their site. Pls join me in that endeavor if you all use Facebook. Thanks!

I've got to agree w the "wow" above. Do you think she really has yorkies, they just look different? Or a scam w no yorkies at all - just lovely naughty items.

I think she's selling Yorkies, she's just using a picture of an adorable Yorkie, instead of one of her own, who may be really young.

i'm thinking scammer!! but maybe just a horrible BYB. that Chrissy Wigg up in Blythedale, MO uses photos from other websites like that too and she's a horrible liar and manipulative breeder. :(

Good detective work Nancy! I should have thought of that. Why these breeders keep getting away with substituting pictures I don't understand! I guess it is because even though their puppies may not look nearly as good as the one in the picture -- all puppies are cute. Sometimes they make the sale just because people want to rescue the pup from the situation they are in -- but that is not true rescue and folks need to know that giving any money to people like this is enabling them and contributing to the problem just as much as the seller! If there are no buyers, there will be no sellers! She does have yorkies as I found an article were she had won in a Humane Society Dog show raising money in NE FL. She also advertises on ebay kijiji using the same pictures and this phone number (386) 659-2439.

TinEye is my detective. If you think you've seen a picture before, it can often find other uses of the same picture. TinEye Reverse Image Search A negative answer mean little, I mean a picture could still be used multiple times even though TinEye didn't find it. Her facebook page also has a picture of her and an adult yorkie, so I agree, it's not a scam in that sense.

Yeah, I just used it and it couldn't find an image I KNOW I've seen somewhere else before. However, this seems like pretty incredible software...added to favorite :)

It seems to be better at checking "sale" sites than picture sites, like photobucket or private sites like yorkietalk. You can add a site to their data base if you like.

I thought I was the only one that noticed! I'm constantly getting notifications and it's mostly always "new litters." :(

As far as I'm concerned, that gives so much information on what type of breeder they are.

After, I went to the garage sale site, I just laughed for a couple of minutes. What a character. How sad for the little pup, though.

Be very careful, and isn't it illegal to use someone elses photos without owners permission?
