We did great until we lost power at 5AM. Our sub pump went off, we tried real hard to bail for a couple of hours but the water won. It's just a basement and stuff it could have been much worse. Pups and family were safe and that's what matters.
Stanzoig I agree on Mayor Bloomberg and I have to give to Gov Christie too. Both handled everything perfectly..

Glad to hear that pretty much everyone is doing ok and the storm didnt do too much damage. Glad everyone seems to be doing good and safe! That is a relief!

I'm glad that surly wench seems to be petering out. Hope all our East Coast members faired well.

I can't beleive I forgot to mention Gov. Christie, he did an EXCELLENT job during all of this. A real hands on leader.. I love it.

We were surprised how bad we had that "wench" in our area. Sat. night through the night it sounded like someone was attempting to get in our front door, and it's a heavy door. The winds were the worse I have ever seen around here. We had trees down all over the place in our area. We had branches in all of yards, streets, etc. There were also a lot of power outages. Irene was in a really bad mood when she went through. We did have a death in our area of a man who had a tree fall on him. He was in his home. His girlfriend had a skull fracture from it but is still alive. Glad to hear everyone is reporting they are safe here on YT.

Jackson did great. He was liking us all chilling in the living room curled around watching a movie on my laptop, haha. We had lots of big branches down and one big tree that fell (away from our house, thank goodness).
Good thing your dad has a generator. I hate when the power goes out. It's so boring not having power. :p No hot water either. Glad to hear Jackson wasn't really phased. I was relieved that Teddy did well too, did not panic. Max was barking at the wind after midnight (Sat), lol, and I kept telling him to go back to sleep.

I agree, having loved ones safe is most important. Sorry about your basement.

Sounds like you did get hit hard. Lots of clean up to do. Falling trees are what really scare me around here whenever we have a big storm.
