In the height of the storm now here in Lower Manhattan. Rain is just pounding now, was pretty windy this morning around 3-4am. I am on the 23rd floor facing the Brooklyn Bridge overlooking the East River. the sound of the wind up here is really unbelievable. We have about another hour to go then the worst part of the storm is over for us down here. My little guy Rocco has his sister Dottie with him and they are happy and safe. Everyone in the path of this storm be safe. |

Sooo the storm has not even hit us here yet, not for a few more hours. It is raining and slightly breezy. Fletcher is freaking out! He's nervous, won't settle down. The breeze took the door and shut it and I thought we would lose him under the bed for the day. How are we going to do this with him today? Poor baby! |

So far so good....gust are getting a little more intense and the power is flickering like crazy. My yard looks like someone through leaves and branches everywhere like confetti. No rain...so thats a good thing. Tides are suppose to be real high so that could get scary. Glad to hear that everyone seems to have gotten through ok, hopefully that continues. |

Sounds like it's not been as strong or ferocious as they thought from the pictures and coverage I'm seeing on TV. Hope it is just a strong late summer storm by the time it gets to you. |

It's been pouring here since late last night. The wind isn't too bad, though I've seen some gusts blow the tree in the backyard sideways. I took Roxie out to potty at like 6:40 this morning. She took one step out, saw the torrential rain, and turned around to go back inside. I had to drag her out to the grass and hold her there until she went. She hasn't pooed in 24 hours. :( They're saying on TV that we may see the sun within the next hour or two! I sure hope so! Hope everyone else is fairing well! |

We got 6 1/2 - 7 inches here year before last one day in only a few hours so it was raining very very hard while it rained - pouring like a spout off the roof and Tibbe did not want to go outside during that torrent either but at least he finally did. He came in just soaked with water. |

We got very lucky only had big branches down in the yard and on the fence although the fence is ok there are leaves everywhere. Neighbor across the street has a tree on there garage and have a small hole from it, then the neighbor across the street and down two houses had a tree completely pulled up by the roots and fell on there house. Those are all I can see from my house. My moms county got his really hard but she seems ok and my dads out doing what he likes to do help anyone he can. My grandpa was able to drive up to Micky D's this morning and get his coffee and us some breakfast. I felt so bad for Callie though durning the storm we took her out before it got bad she needed to go potty she cried and barked at the door so we tried putting towels down and we told her it was ok to use the potty and begged her to but she wouldnt so as soon as it sounded safe enough I harnessed her up and ran out with her and she peed a gallon the poor baby and we ran back in it was scary. I never rubbed her nose in pee or yelled at her or anything as I dont believe in that when potty training I only ever told her "no" when I caught her doing it and gave her treats when she would go in the right place this was my first dog I ever completely trained myself and she will absolutely not have an accident in this house and hasnt seen she was 9 or 10 months old. I fill very very proud of her and myself. Although last night I was crying I was so worried about her having to go. |

We did great. The winds were pretty freakin' scary and we lost power really early into the storm. Around 2pm when it wasn't even THAT bad yet. Ugh. So that sucked. We actually still don't have power today (at 9pm) but I came over to my dads house this afternoon who doesn't have electricity either but does have all the generators hooked up so at least we've got fans and TV and internet, LoL. Jackson did great. He was liking us all chilling in the living room curled around watching a movie on my laptop, haha. He didn't really seem phased by the storm until later at night when the winds REALLY picked up but he simply curled up real close to me and slept through the night. I did get him to go outside to pee around 7pm and he didn't go again until 7:15 or so the next morning, lol. I was actually hoping he'd have an accident in the house but couldn't find any. I am pretty sure he definitely held it for over 12 hours. But he did real good and not too much damage, minus the power outage of course. We had lots of big branches down and one big tree that fell (away from our house, thank goodness). |

We got NOTHING! It fizzled before it hit us! Didn't losevpower, nothing! After al the prep I'm almost disappointed! Glad no damage tho! |

Glad to hear that most of us east coasters got thru this without many problems. Could of been alot worse. I am very impressed with the City of New York and how the prep and evacuations were handled. IMHO Mayor Bloomberg and his staff did do a great job of keeping this city safe. Thanks! |

We had half of one of our trees fall right on to the drive way |
