| Yorkie theft on the rise! I just read an article on the BBC news website about the large increase in theft of dogs, particularly small and specifically Yorkshire terriers! It was really frightening. By writing this here I just want people to be aware that a threat exists and to be careful, even more than usually about our dear friends and companions. |

| Thanks for keeping me on my toes. I never leave my babies even in the back yard and I have a privacy fence but its 4 feet. I love my guy so much I don't ever want to THINK if someone taking him from me.

| I'm telling my family to keep an eye on Bailey. They just put her outside while I watch her. |

| The article was scary, they had instances of people's house being broken into, and dogs being snatched out of the arms of children. They say its the recession and people steal them to give as presents or to sell on the internet. My mogwi is a service dog and he is with me at all times, it took a year to train him and I would be so lost without him now. |

| After seeing some of the mobs that have been taking everything they can get their hands on it is frightening to think of the kind of world we are living in and they type of people we are surrounded by. |

| Thanks for reminding us, I worrry about this all the time. You can never be too safe anymore. This is one reason I don't take my dogs out with me unless it is to the vet. They are always on a leash outside, they only walk in our yard ( we have 5 acres) an they are never outside alone.

| We just had a report on our news. Dog thefts up 50% this year. Most commonly stolen breed - YORKIE. They also said to beware of web sites like Craigs List. Ppl are selling stolen yorkies on there dirt cheap w sad rehoming stories so that you do not suspect a stolen pet. They said it is the new way to make quick money.

| So true! I have decided I like dogs as a race far better than humans. |

| That is probably the same report I read. It is very distressing especially the lady who's house was broken into and aside from all electronics etc they stole her two nine year old Yorkies. She has a facebook page now trying to get as many people as possible to look for them. |
