OK ITS OFFICIAL - Milesy is a TEAPOT!!! YAY!!! So I borrowed a REAL scale from my neighbor and he weighed in at 7.6 lbs. @ 8 months old!!!! :animal36:animal-pa:aimeeyork What I did was get on the scale with him in my arms and subtract the weight. He won't register on the scale otherwise. |
We do the weigh in too... Before breakfast; without collars or harnesses; etc., but only once a month. It's not so much to see if they are teacups or teapots as to make sure our food offerings are appropriate. Little Maxie, who came to us as 4.6# at 15 months old is now 6.4# at 2 1/2 years old. The vet isn't buying my plea that the numbers are the same -- just reversed! Says Max shouldn't weigh more than 5 or 5.5 pounds. ...because of his knees; heart; and general stature. But he is a PIG! Goes nuts over mashed potatoes, toast with butter, scrambled eggs... He eats a little of his dog food, but then camps at my side or my shoulder to get whatever people food treat he can get. I am weak... He eventually gets what he wants, and I know that's not good for him. |

I don't feel guilty about not giving into Miles is because I know that stuff is bad for him. It is barely healthy for us humans. I don't want Miles sick or fat and I don't want unnecessary vet bills. |
My Teapot, Artie! 1 Attachment(s) Artie is two years and four months old, and he weighs a healthy 12.5 lbs. :D |

All these beautiful pups |
So much more to love... 4 Attachment(s) I thought Avery was big at 10.5# but I see there are even bigger sweeties out there! Avery has changed so much since we got him at 7 months (mostly color changes) and he is now 16 months old, however, he as stayed at 10.5# now since he turned one year old, so I'm not sure if that means he's done growing or not  |
Sadly I have to announce Pixie is no longer in the teapot club, she lost her fight with Kidney Failure 01/26/13 |
Sorry for your loss, FosterMom Their lives are so much shorter than ours in years. What they give to us in the brief time that they are with us is immeasurable. |

Monty's first pics 2 Attachment(s) Attachment 381843 Attachment 381844 Hope these pics come through. Monty is originally from the UK where they have banned tail docking...I happen to love his long beautiful tail. He is actually against every yorkie characteristic, from his wonderfully large stature, to his floppy ears and long tail...isn't he gorgeous??? Lovin my teapot!! |
1 Attachment(s) Clyde is three years old and weighs 13.5 pounds Dexter is 7 months old and weighs 9 pounds Dexter looks bigger in the pictures, but it is really just his hair that I am letting grow out :) |
etc...Monty info I forgot to mention that Monty weighs in at just over 15lbs!! |
2 Attachment(s) I have 2 teapots myself! Dino is 9lbs my smaller teapot Mr. Bucket fluctuates from 12-13lbs |
Wow, I was reading this thread and there are a lot of "teapots"! Max is weighing around 7 1/2 pounds. I guess he is a "teapot". He needs to lose about 2-3 pounds which we are working on. After he was neutered he gained so much weight! He is only 8 inches tall and looks like a sausage! |
I absolutely love love love the teapots and it is so nice to see so many that look like my Monty...I have been convincing people that he is a genuine yorkie since he was 4 months old and now that I see all these gorgeous larger yorkies I can prove to the non-believers that he is pure yorkie...lol |
Keno is now up to 16 lbs. He is 14 in at the shoulders and really not heavy. He is tall and has the longest legs. He is 15 months old. I would like him down to 14 lbs due to his right knee, has mild lp. Everyone always says, he looks like a yorkie, face, color and coat, but where did those legs come from? He has the drop ears also, see alot of that in the larger yorkies. |
1 Attachment(s) I'm not sure why my pictures are not showing up, i'm trying it one more time...lol here is my little tea pot, Butters! :D He is 2 years old and weighs 9 pounds! ;) |

These cute doggies hardly look like teapots. They all seem so small. |
Muggles has just had his 16 week checkup and has become a member of the Teapot club at 7.1 pounds. I can't seem to get my pictures small enough to post - but you can see his 16 week picture in his album. I recently got back from a 2 week business trip - he had gained almost 2 pounds and was sleeping in the bed :p , DH says Mugsys slept better there......of course the more I read on YT the more I am beginning to think that almost all yorkies end up sleeping in the bed! Teapot update 1 Attachment(s) Oscar is 1yr 5 months @ 9lbs... My Sweet Chocolate Teapot :) |
Keno 28 months old not 15 months. 1 Attachment(s) Do not know why I made error in Keno's age. Must be old age on my part. He is 28 months old and 16 lbs and and 14 inches at the shoulders. |
