Fake Buddy Belts?
 
Take a look at this. BUDDY BELT HARNESS- size 4 RED- NEW | eBay

Notice how the two arm holes connect. It's different than how they usually are. The seller says these are in fact BB and this is a size 4, yet in their other listings they have other size 4s with the correct shape. Does this strike anyone as odd? It'd be so easy to knock off the shape of a BB, what is up with this one?

That is strange. Everything looks real except the center/chest area. Buddy Belt did not change their pattern, did they?

On second glance, looks like the arm holes are off too. I don't recall the big tag looking like that either.

While it's totally possible and very likely for companies to change their logos and hang tags from time to time, the armholes look weird! I wonder if the seller doesn't know they are fake? That is the only one like that in her store.

I don't use buddy belts, but yes it looks different than the other ones pictured...how odd. I also glanced at the description...haha I thought it odd for the seller to state "The color of this BUDDY BELT is called Red."...:p

I didn't think Joey's looked that much different, but maybe I'm missing something? We got ours about 4 1/2 years ago, after copying Ann's boys' harnesses. Honestly are fake ones usually cheaper than the original? The only thing I note different was a little red thing that looked like the maple leaf symbol for Canada. http://parenting.leehansen.com/downl...maple-leaf.gif Perhaps it's made in Canada?

I just noticed that they all have a maple leaf on them, but I don't remember having one on Joey's I wonder if mine is fake, lol, I really love it.

This is Kaji's buddy belt. We got it last week. It does have the leaf because it's made in Canada.

I ordered Jada and Bogie's Buddy Belts from Wet Nose Boutique about 3 or 4 months ago. Jada's is a size 3.5 and Bogie's is a 4. I never noticed the difference in the center of the arm holes until now. Maybe it is the size? I am thinking they only have a couple of half sizes available. HmmmmAttachment 350507

Kaji's BB is a size 3. Is his different from yours? We just got it on Friday from a boutique in downtown LA. They had all the sizes and they all looked the same to me.

I thought you might be onto something, but Joey's is a size 3 and is made like your black one. I'm wondering if the half sizes are different, but the one on ebay doesn't say anything about being a half size. I don't even think they sold half sizes when I bought Joey's.

I guess they do now. Better fit perhaps with the new half sizes? We first tried on a red 3.5 for Kaji, I really wanted the red one. It was too big. We then tried on the black one, and it was perfect! Black goes with everything right? :D mine looks just like Bogie's and is a full size as well.

It must be the half size that has the different center.

Nancy, I doubt yours is fake. I recall reading older threads when I was researching the BB and some people had the maple leaf and others did not. BB must have added it or made some without it.

I remember trying Buddy Belts on my Schnauzer at a show, and the BB representatives said that they were going to make some changes to the "chest" size, because some dogs have a more narrow chest, and others are wider. It was why the original belt never fit my schnauzer properly. It was either too big or too small...maybe the new design is to fit a different chest shape.

The maple leaf is on mine too. I think they added that a few years ago.
I did see some knock off BB on ebay a while ago, but they were knock offs, not fakes. They were not listed as BB. They were listed as harness belts for your buddy. Ha!

Mogans buddy belt looks like that and it does have a maple leaf on it he is growing so I will probably have to get a bigger size// his is tan

I think it is for the chest size...when I was discussing sizing with Susan from Wet Nose Boutique, she recommended the 3.5 size for Jada because she has a muscular chest:p but she is little everywhere else.

Yeah, that one is obviously fake. What I meant was the other ones I saw on ebay weren't called BB, but they put the words buddy and belt so it would come up in searches.

OT: Whoa I just got a total deja vu feeling. :confused: weird

Have you in another lifetime looked for BB on the web???????? This is boring, but my psych professor said that deja vu is cause by your brain having a little hiccup, and skipping a head, than back and you get the feeling you been there done that. Although, I really believe that there's more to it than that sometimes.
