It IS going to be a long day tomorrow - until you get that phone call from the Vet's office saying 'every thing went well." You will breathe a sigh of relief and life will be easier. Then, she will come home and you will feel guilty ~ until a few days later when she is bouncing around like nothing ever happened. Prayers for a successful surgery and quick recovery. |
Ask if some one can text you and let you know when your baby is out of surgery. Try some retail theropy while she is in surgery. Mina wore onesies for a few days after surgery instead of an ecollar, worked great. She is 4 1/2lbs and I purchased a package of Carters NB size. I will keep you and your baby in my thoughts tomarrow. |
I'm sure she will be fine:) Belle was just spayed yesterday, so I can understand how you feel. Good thoughts being sent to you and Poppy! |
My Khloe was 3.8 pounds when she was spayed and she did great. She was a little groggy the day of the surgery, but the next day... she was trying to run around like she always does. I had to keep her calm for the next couple days. I'm sure Poppy will do great! |
Just checking in to see if Poppy has had her spay yet? How is she doing? |
Thinking of you and Poppy today. :) |
hi everyone, Poppy is fine i dropped her off at 8:30am and the nurse took her from me... i felt stupid as i started to cry. I phoned the vets at 1pm and she was just coming round :( i went to pick her up at 4pm and the vet told me they had also pulled some baby teeth that was still there ....poor poppy has been through the mill. I paid extra to get the blood work done first as advised in this thread, i am glad i did. poppy is feeling so sorry for herself with her cone on her head :( she is crying randomly wich is worrying me but she is calm when i pick her up. The vet didnt give me any medication for her but said i could collect some tomorrow if i think she needs it. its breaking my heart to see her like this. :( xxxx |
Vet should of sent pain med home. Hope the night goes well. You might try putting a baby onesie on her instead of the cone, she would probably be more comfy. Mina weighs 4 1/2lbs and wears a 0-3months size onesie. You just sanp it and let her tail poke out between the snaps, unsnap it and roll it up so she can go potty. I think the closeness of the onesie helped to comfort Mina. She only fussed at me on the way home and stopped as soon as I put the onesie on her. If you have a family member or a friend close by,maybe they could pick a package up for you. |

Clothing, Toys, Electronics, Jewelry, Jaclyn Smith - Kmart.com I kept in on Scarlett and then would unsnap it when I took her to the potty pad. It worked very well for me. |
So glad to hear Poppy is home. She'll be fine and you'll be surprised how quickly she'll be back to herself again.:) |
I am glad Poppy is home. I agree those cones tend to stress them out. Onesies can be purchased at Walmart, Target any store that sells baby clothes. Also Mom To Hot Rod sells these great soft kisse collars. I have one on hand should I ever need it. Most vets give them an injection for pain before they leave that should last 24 hours. |
So glad that Poppy is home and is doing well. I would call the Vet tomorrow and get her some pain med's. She will be back to herself in no time at all. |
