are boy yorkes really better ? i just got a girl yorkie but eveyone is telling me i should have got a boy one , i dont have her now. do u think i should trade her for a boy. |
If a girl is what you want....then a girl is what you should get!!!!! I have one of each and love them both!!!! :D Welcome to YT!! By the way!! |
It's personal preference as far as the sex of a dog as long as you plan to spay/neuter the pup it doesn't really matter. Potty training (I think) is about the same depending on how "alpha" the yorkie believes itself to be. Both males and females can mark, both make wonderful pets given the proper care and attention by the owner. A lot of people have a lot of opinions, take them for what they're worth, in most cases they aren't worth the saliva it took to say them out-loud. If you're happy with your little girl, then keep her and give her all the love and attention (and training) she needs/deserves :) Welcome to YT! |
I have a boy and a girl. Jada was my first yorkie and I had always wanted a girl and then we decided she needed a playmate and adopted Bogie. Jada is spayed and Bogie is neutered and I wouldn't change a thing about them. They each have their individual personalities and I love them both dearly. If you want a girl, then you should definetely get a girl:) |
You should ask yourself, what do YOU want? I have a boy, he is 4. He is very sweet and loyal. I wanted a girl, but I feel in love with a boy so that's what I have :D |
I think they are about equal. With the right training they potty train about the same. I like that females don't lift there legs to pee. But that is my personal thing. I have a male and a female and they both are wonderful dogs. So personally I would not trade her. Who knows you may find another down the road someday. They are easy to collect and love. Good luck :):) |
I have both....they have different personalities, but are both very loving! They are definitely both my babies! I say get what your heart tells you... |

I love that! I got a girl because that is what I always wanted. And it was love at first lick. She had 2 brothers with her and I only had eyes for her. I would never regret it. I will get a boy eventually but girl was my first pick. :) |

I have a boy then now Im getting a girl I <3 them both! You can't just stop at 1! |
Aww don't do that. Keep her. Hey I have both, boy and girl and I have no regrets. I did get the boy first tho. The girl came a few months later and they are inseparable. |
We only have a boy and he truly is the most cuddly affectionate little furbaby you ever met. However, I think that has a lot to do with the breeder and how he was handled from a very young time. Every pup will have an individual personality. I'm already thinking about getting a female, possibly next summer, once we've moved into a house. I love Oz, but like other people lament, you can't find many clothes for the boys, and I really want to go SHOPPING!! Besides, Oz makes every day a joy, so if we have two we double the fun, laughs, kisses, and cuddles. I don't think you should "trade in" your baby because of what you read or hear. If you handle the pup right and train it properly you'll have a long time very loving, sweet companion, regardless of whether it's a boy or girl. |
I have both and love them both. They are completely different but I think that's just personality. The only real difference because of their sex is that it's easier to "blow" on my girls belly because there isn't anything in the way!:D |
Boy or girl, it is all about that heart flutter that says this is the one. I have 4, 2 of each and one boy is all lap baby the other more off on his own. One girl is my shadow and the other is sweet but 100 % a Daddy's girl. |
