Guilty here too:D |
Well, heres the good news and the bad news...... Bad news, u probably are at least a lil crazy. Good news is, your not alone, so are we!!! :O) I talk to mine just like I would a person. I do think sometimes they may understand more than we think. I can make kissy, smoochy noises to my yorkie and he'll come runnin and lick my face. :O) |

LOL, some days I say more words to my dogs than I do my wife! I don't even pretend to be ashamed of it any more. Before I leave for work, I tell them who is in charge: "Eddie's in charge. Rusty, you're the Enforcer. Jillie, you're Eddie's advisor and second in command." At night, I tell them how much fun I had with them that day and go over the highlights. :p It gets worse, but I'll spare you the details. |
You bet! I'm a stay at home yorkie mom so I talk to Sophie all day, everyday. My husband talks to her, too. He even says things to her like thank you and excuse me but most of all he tells her what a good little girl she is :D. Sophie is so smart I swear she understands every word :p. When she wants to be a stinker she even talks back ;). |

Yup, I talk to all of my dogs as if they were people. :D |

I talk to the dogs more than my kids though- the dogs don't talk back, or ask for money, or car keys or roll their eyes, etc. |

Ohhhhh Yeah!! I talk to him quite a bit.....and he understands Every Word! LOL!!!! :p I swear I think there are actually some weekends when he is thinking: "Would You Go Somewhere, So I Can Nap!!" :) :) |
Of course, sometimes it's just me here all by my lonesome with just Paris and the lizard. Who else would I talk to? He keeps secrets like no person I ever knew! www.paristheblindwonderdog.blogspot.com |

That's one. I felt guilty, so I tossed you a bone. :p |
Im a stay at home mom,and i talk to Rascal all day. And they do know alot of what you say, especially if they hear something over and over. I read that dogs can usually remember words (if heard over and over) up to 30 some words! Rascal knows his leash is in a yorkie bag on a door handle in the living room. He is so use to seeing me put it in there when we come in, and now i can say you wanna go out rascal. and he runs and jumps in that chair by the bag and just looks at me and stares at the bag. i can ask him if he wants bacon or a bone and he will walk in the kitchen and sit by the cabinet door were they are at. He also has a rubber cow that he loves..he drags it everywhere. and if you say wanna play cow Rascal..He will run all over living room floor looking for it and if i point to the bedroom and say in there Rascal, you left your cow in there..he takes off in there and in a few ..here he comes with it hanging out of his mouth. He loves his back scratched too..i can say .want me scratch your back Rascal and if he does he will walk over to me and stand at my feet waiting on me to bend over and scratch him.. but he dont ever want to stop! I finally say.. thats enough! He"s funny! i think about everyone who loves there dog talks to them.. |
I talk to Fido a little bit, I use ''baby voice'' much cause then he wags his tail so much and its soo cute :D I mostly just talk to him when I'm asking him for something like: Do you wanna go for a walk? are you hungry ? want a treat? Also often when I'm in the computer (its a small laptop that I often have on my bed) he puts his head on the screen so it falls down and the computer turns off, I can't ban him that cause he does his puppylook then ! its soooo cute, then I talk to him and ask him : Fido what where you doing ? you are not suppose to do that, but damn your so cute !!! and then I hug him to death almost haha :D |
Absoultly I am so guilty. And they do understand me as I do them. They have me trained. And I feel I have them trained. It's a win win situatuion :D:D:rolleyes: |
I talk to mine all the time. I hold complete conversations with them. I know they understand what I'm saying. Heck every now then they talk back to me. Since it's just me at home, since hubby works oversea's, they are who I talk to. |
Not only do I talk to Zoe and my other 3 dogs, but I often have them answer back in their "own" voices...or talk to each other...or talk to friends and family. It's all part of the craziness we love about our home! :D |
Yep! Me too. Not only do I talk to them they talk back. Mylee carries on a conversation until I tell her she talks too much. :D |
Of course! He's here with me, he knows my moods better than I do and understands much of what I am saying by some word association he knows. So he hears it all! |
Guikty here too. I talk to mine all the time. They even talk back. We understand each other. My husband thinks I am crazy. He is probably right onthat, but, it has nothing to do with talking to my babies. :) I had rather talk to them than my teen agers... Teens have a smart mouth, an attitude that is not too nice, and are always wanting something. ;) |
:whew:I was worried that when I logged back in the white coats would be waiting & I'd be:banned:! Good to know I'm not alone.:p They are so smart, I don't doubt they understand the regular things we say. When Princess is up to no good I'll say "what are you doing?" & when I see it I'll say "Princess, that is naughty, we do not _____, that is ockey!" It seems to be more effective than NO & I swear she knows because she comes running to me trying to kiss away my disappointed tone. Of course it works every single time! Mikey, I'd rather be a freak than a geek.:tongue012:wink5: |
Yes, absolutely, lol. I believe dogs are a lot more capable of understanding than many give them credit for. I speak to Jackson in full sentences all the time and I am sure that most of the time, he knows or has a hint of what I am talking about. |
Totally guilty. I talk to Heidi in full sentences too. I think she often knows exactly what I'm talking about. If not she cocks her head and looks at me like she's trying to figure it out. |
Yes, absolutely, I hold complete conversations with them and so does my DH...I truly believe they understand us too...I have to spell out "BATH TIME" cause if I don't all 3 will split & hide. And if we are cooking or making anything with cheese in it...we have to spell that out as well...cause as soon as they hear cheese all 3 line up, waiting for their cheese...thats how I get all 3, to put their ears up & get their attention when taking pictures.:p I tell them to say CHEESE.:D |

I talk to Tibbs just like I talk to my son or husband! He is just another little man in my life!:D |
Guilty Both my dh and myself talk to the pack:) We even spell words that we don't want them to "hear" .. now it is to the point I think they understand some of the spelled words.. like "W.A.L.K" |
