I don't think Mickey D's is responsible because she wasn't on duty. However, what the heck do I know? I thought Casey Anthony was guilty.

Shame on you for thinking that. Don't you know? She just wanted to go out and party her @$$ off after her daughter was missing for what?? Over 72 hours without reporting? Where's the harm in that? I thought that was good parenting!

What a sad incident! There was one time that we were in the mall and my husband was suppose to be watching my then 2 year old daughter while he was ordering lunch in the food court. I was at the table with our newborn waiting for them. My husband was walking back and I did not see my daughter and I literally flipped out, in a heartbeat. I threw the bottle on the floor and grabbed the carseat that my baby was strapped into. I took off toward my husband (also knocking chairs down as I got up) and then saw my daughter peaking out from behind him (made me mad that my hubby wasn't walking with her because she was so little, but I was relieved to see her). Long story short....I had actually splashed all of the people around me with this bottle. I am not sure what happened with this particular mom, but I do know what that EXTREME moment of panic feels like. You want your hands immediately freed so that you can take off toward your child!

With two autistic kids, I'm sure a dog was very useful. She's probably not talking to anyone because her lawyer advised her not to. They will sue and anything she's says now could be used in court later. By the way, do the rest of you believe McDonald’s is responsible? She was off duty at the time.

I think the woman is suing McD's bc they have more money than the off duty manager does.

the thing that still really bugs me, the dog was laying on it's side, head towards the window, not towards the kids. You even see one of the kids jump over him. Clearly that is not a dog in "work mode".

The off duty manager might be able to sue McDonnell’s as well. I’m not sure they have the power to fire her for something she did off duty. Damn sounds like the cost of fries and ketchup might be going up again!


I agree with you about the dog, maybe the kids exhaust him?

I think mcdonalds is with their rights to fire her, the way i understand it, if you do something to harm the company or its reputation, its a malicious act whether on duty or off. either way, they have the right to fire someone for something stupid done off duty
