We walk Bentley in the morning before the heat of the day. So far it seems to be working and it's not too hot, but then again I'm in Ohio. It's only 75 degrees right now. Bentley doesn't need a lot of walks, he's a very sedentary dog. Just like us! haha |
No playtime outside here. We go out to do our business and right back in. Just to hot to even play in the pool. This has to break soon I hope |
We don't go for walks in this weather, Chloe and I can't handle it at all, Armani is indifferent to the heat really. However, we try to get lots of indoor playtime/ mental stimulation and we go sit outside when the sun goes down to get a little fresh air at least. |
We go out about 5 in the morning for our walks and once or twice in the afternoon in the backyard for a quickie thats it. Sometimes after 5 pm it gets a little cooler but not much but at least without the sun it seems a little better. We have all of our dogs groomed very short but it doesn't really help. They perfer the house where we have central air. |
ILt's 93 degrees here and it isn't even 9:00 A. Macy's favorite place to lay is in the sun in front of the floor register with the cold air blowing on her. Best of both worlds. |
I still walk Ian twice a day. We're usually out about 630a and 815p. Our walks have gotten a little shorter, though. |
Keno still get his walks. But early morning on grass only. |
Louie still gets to walk, but it is late at night, and just around the block till this heat subsides. |
I still walk. But it is more prep time when it is so hot. We wear wet T-shirts (both the doggies and myself) my fanny pack has turned into a shopping bag and now includes poop bags, a frozen bottle of water, a wet wash cloth in a zip lock bag, two bottles of water, a foldable water bowl, cell phone, and pepper spray. We avoid the hot pavement, and stick to more shady side of the park. Clip on bug repellent does help if you are walking by a lake like we do. I admit we are only going about 1/2 as far as usual. We ( me lol) can't take 2 miles in the heat twice a day ! |

I like that... I like the smell of lemon, could I add a little lavender to that?? j/k My luck the lavender will attract the darn things:eek: I am fine, worst comes to worst the "pack" will just pee on the pads (or my carpet when I am not looking:eek:-- that is why I have a carpet cleaner!!) The year my poor dh was really sick I walked them and it was just as bad, but I had bigger problems so I just dealt with it. I guess that says life is better that I have time to freak out over a few 1000 bites:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: |

Went from mowing once a month to 2 x a week!!! I think as much as I complain about the heat in South Florida it is not as bad as the Mid west!! At least we get some ocean breezes... it is the humidity that kills me. My hair can go from nice and straight to ringlets:mad: in under 5 seconds. |
