Let us know how today goes for Miki. |
Mikki woke up about 1:00 am this morning very very thirsty. She drank a lot of water and went right back to bed. About 6:00 am I took her outside and she went potty. So at least we know she is not having trouble peeing. She also ate a little bit. Not much but at least she is eating. She wants to be around me and that is it. If I give her to DH she just stretches her head to find me. Which means most of the night and morning she was in my arms or lap. Lol. Still appears to be very sleepy which the vet said to expect. It appears that she will be fine. I know she is probably sore. So we will continue to baby her today. Rosie don't like the way she smells (medicine smell). And will not have anything to do with her. That is ok because Mikki needs to rest anyway. DH found out from previous owner that her fiance hated Mikki. :( I can't understand that at all. However, I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. The gas station was the right time and right place for me to be to get Mikki. In the long run, it will be better for Mikki. As of right now, she is sleeping in my lap. I will continue to keep you all updated. I want to thank you all for the support and encouragement, well wishes, and prayers. YT is the best. :) I am so glad that me and my girls have access to this site. I don't know what I would do without all of you! |

Thank you so much. We do love her so much already. She has been with us a little over a week. And we already do not know what life was like without her. Rosie and Mikki are our darling little yorkie girls. I am so glad I have both of them to enjoy. |
So glad to hear Mikki is recovering nicely. I can think of nothing better than spending the day with your baby helping her feel better when she is under the weather. Anytime I have had been sick in the past, my dogs have always known and snuggled up with me. These guys know who loves them - you are great fur-baby parents! |
Aww I'm glad that Mikki has you for a mommy. I'm so happy that she's recovering well. I wish I had Bentley's dew claws removed. But I never thought about it at the time he was neutered. Glad she's doing well! |
Mina had her spay on Wed and she finally pooed normally at about 10pm last night. I guess that it sometimes takes a little while for all of the plumbing to start working again. I know what you mean about the medicine smell. None of the dogs would have anything to do with Mina when I brought her home from the vet. Glad that Miki has the both of your for love. |
Now I know this may be pushing the line of sharing on Yorkie Talk, but when I had reconstructive knee surgery years ago it took me three days and a suppository to get me back on track. TMI? Yes, worth it for the minute I spent laughing while I wrote this - you betcha!!!! Glad your baby is doing well. |
Well, it is taking Miss Mikki less than 3 days. We are starting to feel more like our old self now. :) This is going to be really hard keeping her from jumping for 3 weeks! I am so glad she is coming around. :) |
It is so sad that her original owners fiance didn't like Mikki, and she had to rehome her. But it has been a Blessing for your family and Mikki that she has a furever home where she will always feel loved. |
Glad to hear she's doing so well!:) |
Soooo happy to hear that everything went well!! Wishing Mikki a very speedy recovery :) |
Just got back from vacation so I am behind on your thread :( Congrats on your newest addition and what a great feeling to know how much she is loved and has such a wonderful Mommy & Daddy...I too believe "Everything happens for a reason". So glad she is doing well, as I was reading your post it sure did bring back all of the memories of having Lexi spayed too and her little hernia operation. It is amazing how they take over our hearts :D Keep us posted and again so happy she is feeling like herself ...hugs and congrats again :D |

Thank you so much. We are really glad we got her. She is back to normal pretty much. We even had a girl fight today. Lol. Well, not to bad but Rosie was showing her that she will always be the boss. Keeping her from jumping is a chore. She is a lot more active than Rosie. But we are trying. :) Again, thanks to everyone for the well wishes! |
