Why doesn't anybody actually use this chat room? It's a great resource! There are always the same people in the chat (who never respond to me) every time I'm in there. What a shame to waste such a resource. I hope this will help everyone find the chat. You click on Chat underneath the header that says YorkieTalk.com up top. Then when the java applet thing pops up asking to block the object (click NO) so it will allow you to use it.

Why the chat room isn't used more frequently is one of life's mysteries. My only guess is that so many people struggle to get in.

I have tried several times and can't get in. I hope I can get in when it raffle ticket time. ;)

Tena, what browser do you use? It'll probably try to block the chat but don't let it. Override the security option.

Yeah what error message do you get? It's a basic IRC chat. You can even use an irc chat application to access it. Do you get an error message or maybe you don't have Java installed on your computer?

Jmuedog leaves chat on all the time but isn't actually there. The rest of the people that don't respond to you aren't real people. They are kinda like robots (for what, I don't know - ignore them).

I go in sometimes, but because not many people do, I have it open for nothing.It's nice to chat with people, but most people do plenty of that on the forum and also it is really hard to some people to get in. So some like it more than others...

I can always get in but it's usually just me, or if I'm lucky enough me and Crystal:) I tried now and nobody is there!

I'm there now, but I don't think anybody wants to talk to me. I have a cold and am just plain whiny. lol

I have the same problem. I am using Firefox. It says it has a digital signature error. Wants me to run or cancel. So I hit run and it says Java has discovered application components that could indicate a security concern. So, I never click allow because I don't want any problems with my computer. I close that out and it then pops up that my firewall is blocking it. Any ideas?

You have to click allow. I've never had an issue doing so, but Firefox wants to stop it every time.

Maybe I should try it with a different browser. It just makes me uneasy with what it is saying. I really don't want a virus. Lol. I don't know what the deal is.

Internet explorer will not allow me to open at all. It says there is a problem with the website. What browsers are you using?

I have only gotten in once. I don't have the time to fool with trying over and over. Haven't tried it since I got the new computer and may try again.

Just tried again with Windows 7 and all the news things on this computer and accepted the applet or whatever and still I get the message website can't display, etc. Too much trouble. Darn - would love to chat live!

It is on Efnet and in order to keep the channel (chat room open), there must be clients (bots) in there or someone could take over the channel.

That is why there is always someone there. :)

While I believe it is safe, I sure don't want to be the one that told you to ignore your warning so you can get a virus. I think it's just a silly java issue, though.

I am quite sure you can click allow. :)

I use Firefox. I never have any problems getting in because I allow the applet to run. It won't hurt your computer if you allow it to run. I'll hop in now to see if anybody is in there.

Do you have Java installed on your computer? That could be the other issue!

Ok, I tried to sign on via IE and Chrome. I found that the problem I had when signing on is that I can't read. After I choose to Run the security threat the next popup is asking if you would like to block content. I was hitting Yes thinking I was accepting the content instead of No. You need to hit No so you Don't block the content.

Yes, and it's up to date. I once or twice got in on my old computer but no one was chatting but couldn't after that and now it gives an error even after I accept that thing that comes up. Guess some setting is too high or something. Will go after it later and get on this chat somehow!!!

I haven't used the chat room.
I seem not to get many if any responses in the forums. :sad:
I'm feeling a bit "shunned":sad:
Wish I could be as close as some are on here.
Oh well, I still love this site.
