California dog dies after being left in car
 

Saw this on the news last night.... some people just dont have common sense or are just ignorant. I dont get it! its sad.... i think there shoud be harsher punishment for these people.

oh my gosh how sad poor dog that is just awful

This poor dog, too bad some dogs have to belong to stupid owners. I hope they charge her with animal cruelty and put her in jail, too bad they can't lock her in the car. Here in Atlanta we had a 2 year old child die because the day care workers left her in the van after a field trip and didn't realize it for 3 hours.

One of the girls at work went to Walmart yesterday on her lunch break. When she came back she said they were announcing on the PA system for the shopper who had left there dog in the car to go to the parking lot immediately!!! It was almost 90 degrees here and high humidity yesterday. I just hope there dog is ok...people make me so mad:( Somebody needs to lock them in a hot car and not let them out!!!

They should be able to break the window and get the dog and make the owner pay for it. There should be stiffer penalties for these people. its sickening.

This has got to be one of the biggest pet peeves I have along with idiots letting their dogs ride in the back of a pickup and burning their pads off on hot metal. I agree we should be able to break the window and I think the police also should be called. Have people completely lost their minds??? I'm sorry, but, I don't think that people are that dumb. I think they just flat out don't care. She should be stuck in the back of a closed car and see how it feels in heat over a hundred degrees. UGH!!!!!! I hate things like this.

It's so sad. The other day I was going to pick up a package from the front desk, and I saw a couple who had brought their dog along to look at units. They wouldn't let the dog in the main office (don't get me started on this since it is supposed to pet friendly and we pay a pretty high monthly pet fee for the girls to be here, but what that really means is we'll accept pets but they are only allowed on a tiny patch of grass out back). Anyways, the guy walked back to the car with the dog and I had to speak up. I just said isn't it kind of hot to leave him in there alone and he was like oh, don't worry I'm going to stay with him. He wasn't angry, and I know could tell I was coming from a good place, but you never know how people are going to receive such comments.

Poor dog!! I hope they sent her back to China or jail!! She should have known better than to do what she did!! RIP to that puppy!

I'd like to kick her azz all the way back to China however, I feel that the best punishment after she does some jail time would be for her is to work every single day (even if for a few hours a day) in an Animal Shelter observing the results of owner irresponsibility and the effects that animals are forced to suffer.

ps....during summer months, I even leave the A/C on in my house for my girls...

What a waste! Let's lock her in her BMW all the way back to China on a boat. I don't care how old she is or what natiaonlity she is, it's fricken common sense. Then again, that seems to be missing alot in people. Even if it's too hot outside, I won't take Gizmo unless I have water and eventually I will carry him or take breaks in air conditioned buildings. However, if it's above 90 he doesn't go with us.

A dog would be a heck of a lot more comfortable in his crate at home with a bowl of water and air coditioning.

This makes me so mad! How can people be so stupid? Every summer it is repeated over and over about leaving dogs and kids in the car! When will they listen!

made me cry. i hate ignorant people who dont' care about their pets. they should get left in a human oven for three hours and see how they like it.

This is so sickening. I can't stand to think of that poor baby laying there suffocating, patiently waiting for the owners return and some relief. RIP sweet baby.

If I were there I would have used a rock or anything I could get my hands on to break the window and they I would have used it on her stupipd head. She got no brains in it anyway.

This makes me so mad! Why do people think it is ok to leave their dogs in the car? My mom actually called me last weekend. She said she was at the outlets shopping and when she was walking to her car she heard two dogs barking so she followed the noise. Turns out it was 2 yorkies sitting in a pick up truck (the windows were open a crack). My mom said she peered in the window and the two little ones started jumping up and pressing their little faces toward the window. My mom, an owner of yorkies herself, said her heart melted. She said she was so ticked off that the owners would do that to these two precious babies in the car that she waited for the owners to come back to give them a, as she put it "piece of her mind". When several minutes had passed and the owners had yet to return my mom went looking for mall security. By the time she found security and brought them back to the car...the car was gone. She said it had ruined her day seeing little ones being mistreated. She said that she was so tempted to see if the door was open and if it was she would have taken them home with her (until she realized that would be stealing). It is such a shame that people think it is ok to leave their dogs in the car in this kind of heat :(

When I lived in CA I called th police on people who left their dogs in the car twice. Both were on days where it was well over 80 and the widows were left up. I cant beleive she left that poor thing in there for 3 hours, what a sad and horrible way to die :(

OMG, I am amazed at how many Stupid people there are in this world. This is just inexcusable. Someone needs to drive her to Palm Springs & park the car in the middle of a parking lot with the windows rolled up & leave her there.

I do not understand the thinking of these people at all. A few weeks ago I drove my son to the library in the next town over. Sure enough, 2 young adults pulled up a couple parking spaces from I . i happened to look at their car and saw a dog in the back seat. Poor thing was panting sooo hard. I got a bit anxious for that dog. Then the 2 people cam out, jumped in their car and off they went. I did not even see them take notice of the dog. It did make me upset.
I panic because our AC is out, and we live upstairs. i've been wetting my 2 dogs especially if I see any of them start to pant. I do not even feel comfortable leaving them either.
I really think people are not thinking at all or care about their animals when they make such bad decisions.

I took my firends yorkie to see her today...had run into walmart, I sat in the car with him while my daughter ran inside and picked up a few things...with the air on!!. While sitting there I hear a little dog barking in someone else's car. I never saw them come to their car, so I reported it to the security officer before I left.

Last year, a TEACHER in our school system drove to work, worked all day and left her 8 month old CHILD in the car. She FORGOT the baby was with her. HELLLLOOOO? Can we all say dumb^#$ Like I said earlier...IDIOTS

Me and my girlfriend were watching the news and saw a story about a woman who got arrested because her baby had burns, and it turns out, the burns were from the MICROWAVE!!! We couldnt help but think, why does god bless these maniac women with children when there are so many woman out there who would be such good mothers, but are unable to have children. Obviously this thread is about a dog being left in the car, but theres a line between carelessness and criminality....

I agree, Always call 911. Don't Ever assume that telling a store manager or security that they will take action. My DH & I had gone to WalMart in So Cal in the summer about 8 yrs ago & in the parking lot was a newer puck up truck with a camper shell on it, as we passed I heard more then 1 dog barking so I looked inside & there were about 5 small dogs inside and already looking distressed so I stayed by the truck while my DH went inside to ask them to call the police. We waited about 20 min & No one came so DH went back in & was told by the employee that he 1st spoke with that the manager told her Not to call the police, Really ??? So my DH ask to speak to the manager & had to argue with him to get him to call, again Really ??? he actually had to threaten to call the police on him & call the news paper to the parking lot before the IDIOT would call the police. They would NOT even page the people . So after we stood out there sweating our azzes off, the police & the owner showed up at the same time & the owner was fined. We went through basically the same situation 2 summers ago at Home Depot. So Please do not leave it up to Any store employee, Make that 911 call yourself & wait there till the Police arrive.
