Hair Feathers for your Yorkie?
 
All the craze for (human) hair right now is feathers, What do you think about this fad for your Yorkie? Does anyone know if they are synthetic or real feathers?

My mom has these in her salon... everyone is raving about them! They are rooster feathers.

Wouldn't do it for Jackson though ;)

Mine would most likely eat those feathers...can never have a boa around them they go nuts...however, they will wear this:

Someone posted a similar link a few days ago. I read on yahoo that fly fishermen are really irked by the trend, as salons are buying up all the feathers used for fly tying. It's a strange to see it barely getting steam now, I've seen girls wearing feather extensions in LA about 2008 or so and then it kind of went away. Now I see little girls sporting them (like 7 years old), then you know it is really time to move on. LOL

lol i know my girls would eat them to shreds so i wouldn't even attempt it. a lot of sites are advertising them for your pets now too. most sites say that they are real grade a rooster feathers and come from cruelty free sources. they clamp in with a micro crimp ring and are supposed to last through washes and styling for 6 weeks.

I would be very cautious about the feathers around my dogs. . The shaft of the feather could be dangerous if it gets lodged in their throat. You know they are going to eat/chew on them. So, so tempting. But the other braids and etc are absolutely darling!!!!

Mina would probably think it was a toy. Ive been wearing shoulder length,feather earrings for years. They can be washed and curled but,they do not survive a 70mph trip down the highway on a motorcycle.
