Magee Mae Sporting her feathers My precious little Magee Mae is 2 years old and will wear bows but eventually rubs them out. I made this feather hair piece from feathers I bought and joined with small jewelry crimp beads. It is so light she doesn't even know it's there and she will leave it in until I take it out. You do have to place it in just the right spot so the puppy can't see it out of the corner of their eye :) Magee and her friends love to wear them and it looks soooo cute. I haven't learned how to post a pic on here yet, this is my first post. YOu can view a picture of her at www.preciouspetonlinestore.com (my site is work in progress but pic is good). |
my 9 year old daughter had one of these put in her hair and it lasted forever. I am talking like 4 months! She is a total tom boy so it was muddy, dirty, thrown up in ponytails, brushed out with tangles, braded and washed many many times. It with stood all that and never fell out. I would totally try one of these when her hair gets a little longer. |

I just wanted to say this-beware with your Yorkie wearing bright feathers if they go out in an area with hawks...and make sure they use a child safe nontoxic glue. Otherwise whatever floats anyone's boat and isn't harmful to your dog-go for it! Better to see these little cuties with painted nails, feathers in their hair, wearing dresses and well cared for than ignored. I don't know how anyone can see this as cruel adn yet comparatively to cruel treatment it's just over indulgence of a fad IMHO. Having said that NO ONE SHOW THIS TO MY DAUGHTER! LOL I would prefer Elvis not wear feathers or have to pay for feathers to go in his hair to match the ones my daughter (12) is having done and wants changed every other week! Scoobers would go crazy trying eat Elvis' feather-he has a feather affinity! |
Totally off topic sorry. I know these are so popular right now and considering some heritage maybe I should be all YAY about people wearing feathers in their hair-but Dog the Bounty Hunter ruined it for me... my daughter is semi obsessed with his show, and wants her room redone in a Hawaiian theme...I totally called her feathers her dog feathers-go figure! |
this sounds silly but i actually LOVE it. wish Sadie had longer hair to have them. |
1 Attachment(s) I put feathers in two of my Yorkies' hair. Plan to put them in the others at their next bath. The feathers last until you take them out...through bathing, etc. |
1 Attachment(s) i must say i'm kind of loving this! i laughed at first.... but it totally grew on me. on the puppylocks website they have quite a nice gallery of dogs all shapes and sizes that are sporting them. if you look on that gallery they have one yorkie that doesn't have it clipped to the ear or by the eye. it's trailing down the back of the head like a little moehawk!!! i think i've almost convinced my husband that it's not too girly for our boy if it's set to that style. he's soooo picky with Brew and letting me dress him up in anything. he says sports jerseys or nothing!...he'll learn though...oh yes...he'll learn. i'll see if i can get the photo on here... |
Once I found out the roosters die because of this, I decided I didn't like it.... lol, and the feathers died out SUPER quick at my moms salon. They were popular for all of a month. |
