So sick of these HOT days! Ok, ok, so first I was complaining that Spring was taking forever to get here. Now I am complaining that it's TOO hot. We never seem to get a good in between, LOL. I don't remember it being this hot in May/June here in a while though. We did get a short break where we had some gorgeous days in the low-mid 80's with not as much humidity but now we are back to these 100 degree days! Literally my car read 102 yesterday. WTH, Maryland, you are not supposed to be this hot LOL. Jackson can't stand it and I am finding it hard to find things to do with him. It's just unbearable to walk in this heat. We tried yesterday and did about 10 minutes before he just plopped down and did not want to walk anymore. Dog park is pointless because he just sits around anyways, it's too hot. Luckily he's been pretty content for the past 3 days to play a lot in the house with his Kong tennis balls and new Orbee toy, so we've been doing a lot of chase and hide and seek/run around the house type games! LOL. Oh and a lot of sleeping. I cannot wait to get over to my dads place this weekend so he can swim in the pool. Just a whine rant thread about the hot weather ;) |
We feel your pain. My boys are bored. They missed their evening walk last night. I had to carry Max back up the hill on the morning walk, and he overheated at the park the night before. The temp had dropped down to 80 and the sun was setting, but the humidity was too much for him. We have been playing fetch and running in the house, but the boys grow tired of it pretty quickly. Doesn't look like we are going to have a walk tonight. It is still 97 degrees. :( |
It is 64 degrees right now but before this we were in the mid 90's! WTH??? |

I swear we went from the arctic to the tropics in one day this year! Blizzard or heat wave, it's all or nothing. Add in some uncharacteristic storm patterns & it's been a disastrous spring across the U.S. already! |

We are on day 13 of 90+ degrees and with the humidity the heat index is in the 100's:eek: We also went straight from winter to summer. I was on vacation 3 weeks ago and it was cold and raining. I am on vacation this week and we can't even stand to sit on the screen porch. We have been doing a lot of playing ball and chasing each other in the house. I have took Jada and Bogie out for a walk in the yard after 8pm and they still are panting after like 2 minutes. It is raining right now, so hopefully the heat wave will break here. |
I feel your pain. It's been in the mid 90s for 12 days or so, but we just got a ton of rain, so that should cool thing down a bit. We have to walk Ian around 645a when the heat hadn't kicked in, and again around 8p. GA heat + menopause = misery! |
That sounds so bad. From freeze to tropics in the same week. I hope the weather levels out for all of you and you can get back to enjoying spring with the furkids before it is officially summer. |
Me too I was so looking forward to seventy something degree days but we went from cold to scorching hot and our air conditioning is out so Im miserable. I now wish it was cold |
Well unfortunately I can't feel for you (although believe me I would want to...I love the hot weather) but it is only 61 today here in what is supposed to be warm sunny California. It's so ugly I wanted soup for lunch today. Send some warmth our way!! |

The weather is driving us crazy on this side of the ocean as well.. Warm when it was supposed to be cold.. dry when it was supposed to rain.. and now that it should be getting warmer... it's cold !! |

Ugh, us too! It's just too hot to be outside for anything. Rory seems to start melting during walks when it hits 80 out, and it even has me considering cutting both of my girls down partially in an effort to help cool them. |
OH boy the heat here in nyc is horrible also. humidity is unbearable. My little guy hates this weather. out for like 5 minutes and he is panting and just wants to go back home. when we get back in the house he runs to his water bowl and drinks up and then throws himself on the couch!! We have been playing alot of games in the house also... |
92 degrees here. When it starts getting hot I just stay home. I was out taking pictures of Rosie and within 15 minutes her tongue was out and she was burning up. So, inside to the air we went. Remember when we had such pretty spring and fall days? Now it just seems like it is hot or cold. No in between! |
It been pretty steady 98 to 100ish here in TX. The dogs have been doing laps in the pool and we have been running errands in the morning. When it is this kind of hot,I spend my afternoons 2-4 in the house with my dogs, kids and sewing machine. |
It is kind of weird that all of you are having hot hot weather when we are not. California is usually pretty warm this time of year. I can't complain too much because once our hot kicks in we have it until October or so. My son is getting married in a week. It is an outdoor evening wedding, but the nights have been so chilly I'm thinking we are going to have to rent those heaters for the evening. Weird weather all over! |
I'm in Texas as well....need I say more....its just too frickin hot, we got no spring at all. Gizmo hates the heat, I would give anythng for a nice 60-70 degree day so we can go for a walk. I've been keeping him inside all day, the only time he gets to go out is in the morning when we run errands in the car. I also have a full blooded german shepherd with 7 4 week old puppies on my deck porch. so on top of trying to keep Gizmo busy, I have a puppy routine as well, they are brought inside at noon each day once it has gotten too hot outside. I created a pin in my kitchen and feed them goats milk 3 times a day until I put them back outside around 8:30 at night to feed with mama. I just don't do well in hot temps, and on top of it all the hubby wants to complain about the electric bill with the air conditioner running all the time, I looked at him like he had 2 heads and said ''get over it buddy''.....lmao:biggrin8::biggrin: |
@Cowgirlc, I am a stay home mom,,this is my office. I told my DH many years ago that he isnt expected to sweat at his office and neither am I. Repeat after me. "HAPPY WIFE,,,HAPPY LIFE" Ya know TX girls can be a bit cranky when the temps rise outside. We only have two seasons here Winter (frigin cold) and Summer (burnin hot). Spring, what spring? |
I am whining, send some heat here in Northeastern Minnesota. We are freezing and tonite we are getting the low 30's. Will have to cover the garden tonite yuck! Hope it cools down for you. |
Awe :( and I was looking forward to having similar temps that I have here...it was only 80 today. Is this just an off year for MD, or is this normal? |

I'll be there round the first couple weeks in September, no flight date yet but should be the beginning sometime. I figure it should start cooling off by then, that's pretty standard for everyone, but if it's a weird year I guess there is no telling, lol. |

You are lucky! Everywhere I have been in FL is disgustingly hot most of the year, I can't stand FL humidity (went to Orlando in March and my hair got sooo frizzy, it was so humid every day lol) and all the random rain storms! Ugh. I guess I need visit where you live! |
It was 102 here in New York yesterday, i took Madison out for a walk and made sure to bring some watermelon as a treat and a water bottle to spray her along the way. Keeps her cool! |
I have to walk Teddy really early in the morning and then really late at night (around 8PM well late for us anyway) because by the time it's 10-11AM here it's already in the 90's and then by 2PM 100 something....I hate it...it even makes the pool unbearable :( |
We\'ve had a break here finally, and traded the blazing sun for overcast & rainy skies. At least this way my A/C works! |
