Wow...this is a first, my Gizmo, makes a mad dash several times a day, starting in the living room, thru the bedroom.....under the bed and back to my reclyner. Usually we just stand perfectly still when he makes his dash so we don't get run over...lol....I thought this is what yorkies do....its adorable! :animal37:animal37:animal37:teethysmi:yeahthat: |
Seriously? Puppies and even adult dogs run. I can see if it was destructive (large breed dog knocking things over), but a Yorkie? They need the exercise. If it bothers you that much, a puppy is not for you. |
I found this annoying because sometime she bump into things like wall and mirror and hurt her nose. I am just worry about her safety. |
This poor puppy. Did you do any research at all on dogs before you got her? From reading your other posts, you are so not ready to have a pet in your life right now. I know that doesn't sound very nice but you need to realize FAST that you now have a baby on your hands. Puppies are babies that take a lot of time, work, attention, positive discipline, regular veterinary care (which = $$$) and lots of love. Do you have all that to give her? She is not a toy she is a living being who deserves all that and more. |
If she is continues running into things, then she needs to see the vet. |

Is there anyway you can take her for a long & maybe brisk walk to help her burn off some energy? That might help buy you a few minutes of quiet when you're done. Also maybe move any obstacles out of her path if you can. Princess has started to run twice without facing forward first & ran into the coffee table leg, so I had to move it or play in a different area. She knows better by now, but when they're that young they have unimaginable energy! I wish I could have a fraction of it! |
You cant stop a puppy from being a puppy |
Annoying? Really? That's what puppies do. Take your puppy for a nice walk if it bothers you. They need to grow and release energy. I love when my dogs run in the house. We play like that a couple times a day and then they take a beauty nap!! |
Seriously? really? Its normal puppy play. |
I wish my Yorkie puppy had the "zoomies" more often! It's so fun to watch, but he's a lazy couch potato and doesn't run around much. :( |
I call it psycho puppy, if you find that annoying are you sure you want a dog? That's just typical playful behaviour, get down on your knees and play with the little bugger |
You can't stop this behavior & shouldn't want to! Talk your puppy on regular walks, or if you have a fenced yard, let him/her run around outside for about an hour while you do some yard work or read. My dog does this a lot when some one new comes through the door & especially after a bath, they just get excited and can't help it. |
