94 in your apartment or outside!? |
Have you had the Freon checked? It really sounds like the AC isn't working, it gets way hotter than 100 here, and we can cool off our home easily. Maybe since it’s a new AC they didn’t even give it Freon? Freon is a coolant that AC's use, and needs to be checked every three years or so, but if there is a leak in the line, it could have all leaked out, and your AC won’t work. The compressor runs, but the air isn’t as cool as it should be. Seriously, you need someone to check it out. Running an AC without Freon, could end up costing you thousands in your monthly bill. |

My DS is at MSU ( GO GREEN!) I get "home" every few months or so.....more in the summer :D |
I took an afternoon nap after no sleep last night & woke up around 5:30ish & it was over 85 in here. I'm tacking up some flannel sheets tomorrow over the bedroom windows at least as the blinds there don't do any good. The patio blinds help pretty well. I think it was the freon that they checked last spring:confused:...whatever it was I remember the number had to be between 7-10 to be good & mine was 9. I'll be home all day so I'm going to call & have them check whatever they have to. My sis has a house prob 40-60 years older than mine & when I walk in I can feel the coolness. Here I feel cool for about 5 minutes after being outside. Princess has been sleeping on a wet rag on a pillow beside me & I've been dipping & spraying her, too. We're supposed to get a break tomorrow....I'm waiting! And who knows, maybe she'll associate the relief of a rinse with a bath being positive.;) One can hope!:D |

You need to go to the vet and see if you feel cold air. If you don't then it could be the freon. My classroom air was running but just couldn't keep up with cooling down the heat. It ended up being low on freon. I would have them check it one way or the other. |

The freon level and clean filters are so important to effficient air conditioners, but we have found that a clean drain line is often overlooked and they really clog up. I use a small shop vac and it pulls out a lot of sludge. You might be able to ask maintenance where the a/c drains and make sure it is draining freely. |
Ha ha! Not vet- I meant vent! :D |
So far the central air has been working good although we are waiting for a new filter. I have the three small dogs in the guest room with a ceiling fan so they are cool in there I have the basset hounds in the sun room with a tower fan I have to keep them in their pen so I can open the door to the sun room and let the ac in. I've been filling their water dishes a few times a day to keep the water cold. I'm going to keep them indoors as much as possible. Thank Goodness it's going to cool down next week and go back into the 70s where it should be. |
