Heat and humidity...Deadly combination.
 
In Michigan we're suffering from a heat wave of 100+ plus full 90% and above humidity. I hope that all you MI yorkie Momma's are keepin' cool!

It's sad, I wanted to take Gizmo to the outdoor mall, but it was just too dang hot! :(

I live on the 3rd floor & my air has been on non-stop...hate to see what that bill's going to look like!
Princess was at my parent's all day yesterday, in & outside, no A/C & I swear it took her like an hour to cool off once we got home. Other than a little playing in water on the deck I'm keeping her in.

We are having a heat wave here, too.

I took Gidget to vet for f/u today. A pup was brought in as an emergency suffering from heat stroke while we were there. Vet said to keep Gidget out of the "heat of the day".

The heat and humidity are horrible here too. Today broke an 90+year record. It was 96 with the heat index 105:eek: Please everyone be safe and sensible with yourselves and your furbabies. It is dangerously hot and today is just the last day of May!!!

UGH, it's been bad here too! Yesterday the heat index was like 100. Jackson hates the heat, lol. He completely stopped on our walk today and looked at me as if I were crazy -- as active as he is, he'd rather be laying in the water somewhere.

Here in CA, where I live it fees more like it is fall weather. It is cool and windy. The wind makes it feel more cooler. This is odd for this time of year in the central valley it heats up to over 100 degrees fast. Summer is not here yet. Interesting that CA is below average temperature wise , and in the east it has it hard with the heat.

Gizmo is getting a kiddy pool from his "grandpa" in a few days. For days like this when we can all go in it.

Yeah I'm terrified to see my bill for the air conditioning this month.


In this heat, yesterday my mom saw a dog locked in a car in a parking lot. It's that time of the year, my luck is I'll get arrested for throwing a rock through someone's window.

Same here! I'd heard on the weather report that is was going to get crazy hot here today, so I turned the air on before I went to work today, so that ZoE would be comfortable while I was gone. I'd also put yogurt in her Kong & froze it and then my mum stopped by at lunchtime to give it to her :).

Wow, sounds like you guys are getting the opposite of what we have :) We are having thunderstorms, cold temperatures and rain. Make sure to stay cool!

I lived in San Antonio from 3/09-5/10. That was the worst I've ever experienced such horrible heat (I think it finally cooled down in October). I couldnt wait to move back home! Eeeek!

It is brutal here with heat and humidity. I am getting used to it now though....took a few years.

I could never live up by you...the cold is way too much for me!

The humidity is nauseating. As much as I can't stand the cold, I'd welcome snow right now. I'm boiling even with the air conditioner on!

We're having a heat wave in East Tennessee, too, was 96 degrees yesterday, broke the record of 93. Too hot for walks, even late in the evening.

Hey!! I am just up the road from you in Newport. Even here close to the mountains it is horrible. The heat will smack you in the face at 6am in the morning:(

It is very hot already here in Georgia (95) My babies stay in the kitchen /sunroom so my husband bought a window AC unit last year so (his) babies won't get too hot. So they just lay up in the bed all day like royalty. Husband didn't want a dog in the house now there are 4.:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork

It's a billion degrees here in AZ too. UGH. I knew summer was coming, but I was wallowing in denial. Denial is now over.

It's kind of hot in New York also 87 degrees but not as bad as some of you guys. I am keeping the babies inside today until evening at least. I don't like to see them with their tongues hanging out and Oliver our shih tzu hasn't had his summer hair cut yet so he is a ball of fur. Zach my little yorkie is still okay. He needs a little trim but he's not in bad hair shape right now and either is Zoe our Shorkie is okay and our basset hounds are okay hair wise but they can't stay out too long. On the up side they say it's supposed to go down to the low to mid 70s after today. Right now I don't care that they don't want to go out They have pee pads in the house anyway.

It's 100 degrees today :eek: I don't even want to take the boys out for 2 minutes to potty in the backyard :( This is going to be one long summer!

Here too....and NO rain...and none in our future. We are on water restrictions now due to the drought.
The only pup that wants to stay outside is my Cookie. I swear she is a mess...runs in this awful heat. Here it is almost 4PM and it is 96 degrees.

Don't even get me started. My boys are ringing the potty bell to go outside and lay out in the sun. The a/c hasn't kicked off all day. Today is also the start of hurricane season and I'm praying for safety and planning for what to do if we happen to lose power. :( So far, no clue.

Oh yeah....another summer of high electric bills. Mine were at 600/month last summer. :eek:
And...as for hurricane season, I am trying to ignore that although the city sent out emails and text messages today to remind us to be prepared.

It's been hot here in the DFW area. AND my Allie want's to be outside and chase the darn squirrel's. CRAP

I'm always outside with them when ever they are out. I only allow them 10 minutes at time and Allie get's so pissed she has to come back in. Heck I'm too old for this heat. LOL

I'm trying to think of some place to move that has nice weather all year round. LOL

Oh, same here...WV is just miserable. Close to 100 degrees everyday this week. To freakin hot to be out...walk out the door and wham, your sweating. If you have to be outside, be careful.
