I would most definitely spread the word to everyone I saw about how unprofessional she is. This is horrible such incompetence. How is your little one doing? It made me cringe when I read it. It would have been livid. I would contact the local ASPCA and see what they recommend as far as her being investigated. |

of your life and you and Harley can do more warning people of this crazy woman. Harley is lucky to have you sticking up for him when need be and looking into ways that will correct a problem when he has one. You are one smart gal. |
If I had to deal with that vet treating my dog like that, I would of probably be thrown in jail. Because I would of decked her in her face. I never had a problem with the vets we took my yorkie Lacey. They were nothing but as sweet and understanding as possible when it came to her. They took care of her to the very end. And when she died, they sent me a sympathy card afterwards. |
Im sorry she treated you both so bad. People like that make me so mad. |
Well, first off, i applaud you for being able to keep your cool, because her face would be rearranged had it been me. How dare she flip him around like that, and PUT HIM DOWN!?!?! OMG! I would have totally lost it on her!!  what a JERK!! Poor Harley, and poor you. :( |
I am sorry this has happened to you both. Have you talked to your friend's who reccommended her to you, if so DId you ask them about her being RUDE and Nasty to them!! |
You remained calmer than I would have so hats off to you! What an absolutely horrible person. I hate that you had such a bad experience but you handled a horrible situation with style:) One quick way to spread the word....write a letter to the editor of your local paper. From reading your post, you have the talent to express yourself in a calm manner yet strong enough to get your point across. In doing that, you'll reach far more people in a shorter amount of time. You might also contact the better business bureau in your area. And definitely let your regular vet know....there are such things as ethics (which she is obviously lacking)...your vet may make a phone call to her, you never know. |
That vet is NUTSSSSSS!!!!!!! I can't believe the balls she has to even say something or rather do something so uncalled for and then expect you to pay???? COME ON NOW!!! My vet allows me to hold Tigger when he comes in and actually encourages it because he knows Tigger feels more comfortable with his mommie or daddie comforting him and feeling us near him. My vet also works in the same building as I do and he and the nurses always ask about how he's doing. (once a day when I work if they see me.) I love my vet, He's so sweet and theres two vets that work there and they're both very thorough and nice. They explain everything in detail, and If I don't understand they will explain it to me again. In my opinion This is how a vet should be, nice, professional, curtious, and willing to co-operate with you. I for sure would have yelled her head off and would have told her "YOU WANT MY MONEY YOU TREAT ME AND MY DOG WITH A LITTLE RESPECT AND WHY DON'T YOU JUST TAKE YOUR ATTITUDE STICK IT WHERE THE SUN DON'T SHINE AND GO BACK TO SCHOOL AND LEARN SOMETHING. OBVIOUSLY YOU AREN'T CAPABLE OF BEING PROFESSIONAL AND YOU ARE THE ONE WHO DOESN'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT!!" Sorry for the all caps but I was typing it to express that I would have been yelling and making a scene. |
OMG!!! I'm sorry that vet was just a total b!!!! I wonder how many people she has going there for years! I would not have lasted through the whole appt!! The moment she grabbed his beard I would have grabbed him away from her . In my opinion your dog has a reason for his agression but what the hell is her excuse for acting this way?? Sorry you had to go through this. There are some wonderful vets out there. You have to talk to as many pet owners as possible and see how they like their vet. Genie |
OMGosh, that is aweful. I have had a very bad evening with the vet today also, I am so sorry you had to deal with that. I hope your baby is feeling better. Poor scared baby, I'de bite at her too... |
I think you should go the veternarian board. I think she deserves to be fired. She does not deserve to be around animals if she has no compassion for them. Someone who I used to be best friends with owned a boxer. He hated the vets so much that they had to sedate him everytime he would go. He would try to bite the vet each time. And muzzles did not work, he learned how to pull them off. But, even when Choppers showed that kind of aggression, the vet never treated him or his owners like that. They handled him in a professional way. Choppers is not an aggresive dog, he just does not like going to the vets. He really is a big baby and used to sleep with me all the time when I would go over there. Never snapped at me or tried to bite me once in the over 7 years they been having them. |
You should report that vet I agree with Cajungal. You should report this vet's unprofessional behavior to your local veterinary board. The way she treated your dog is scary, because imagine what she does when you're not watching. How do you think she handles a dog in the treatment room when the client isn't watching? I work in a vet hospital and have taken a lot of vet classes so I know a few people who have worked at vet offices. I have heard the horror stories. Vets who have kicked dogs, or flipped them on their sides breaking a leg. They will even lie to clients and say it was the dog's fault "he jumped off the table". So if you are wary of your vet then don't let them take your pet out of your sight. My vet is wonderful with my dog. He is understanding and respectful. In fact, he lets me come in the treatment room to watch sometimes. A veterinarian should be understanding that every dog is different and they come from different backgrounds. What if your dog was a rescue dog that you were trying to rehabilitate? Even if your dog was aggressive, the dr. could muzzle him to protect herself. Muzzles can work miracles with some dogs, often, it will send the message that he isn't in control anymore. There is no reason to manhandle and talk nasty to a dog. A good veterinarian will recognize when a dog is scared, which is common in a vet hospital, and know how to approach that dog, talk to the dog and handle him/her. I am confident that you can find a vet you can trust. Tell the next vet you visit that your dog has been treated roughly by another vet and that you are hoping to find a vet you can trust. This will let him/her know that you take how they treat your dog very seriously, that you mean business, but also that you are giving this doctor a chance. |
