Don't second guess yourself or let others rain on your parade. Name your new furdaughter what suits her and pleases you. Disclaimer: This advice comes from someone who has named furkids Chattie, Chizzie, Howard, Hattie, Effie, Fern and Tealie and Lollipop. I pride myself in choosing names that fits the kid that will wear it and is also unusual. |

I love Bambi!! such a cute name! And if you think people give YOU funny looks, I named my dog Totoro, half the people can't even pronounce it lol if you really want to change though, heres some: Bee Bailey Bean Bina Blossom Bonbon (candy in french) Boo Bunny Buttercup |
I love the name Bambi...When people ask Marley's name sometimes they will be like, "oh- it's a boy?" >.> I realized when I picked the name out that some people might think that because the name is unisex- or in some people's minds, a boy name. But I didn't care! What I am trying to say is- go with what YOU like. Names have a habit of growing on people, anyways. :P |

I think Bambi is perfect and goes so well with your other pets names!(important when you need to call them!) My son named Ziva and it just fit so well we couldn't consider anything else. |

This thread is exactly why I love y'all!!!!! You get me and understand how hurtful it was for me when my "friend" reacted like that. I was rather shocked and hurt by her reaction. She's in the middle of a divorce because she cheated on her dh so I guess I shouldn't be surprised...but it still hurt. I have loved the name Bambi and love Bambina too, so I think I'll stick with it :D I really appreciate all the kind words of support and names and links to names that were offered to help me! Ahhhh if only we all lived together on a yorkie island LOL Thank you all so very much!!!!! Quote:

I wouldn't change it because I love that name and it is totally unique. People frown upon the name I chose for my female yorkie Aja (pronounced Asia) but I don't care. I like the name and it fits her. Plus, she knows her name and responds very well to it :p |
I think Bambi is a beautiful name for your beautiful puppy! Don't worry about what other people think, this is your puppy, not theirs.:) |
Our dog's name is Dinky. It's kind of a dumb name! Still, it's who he is. I think if she's Bambi, she's Bambi. |
You know, you get the exact same thing when you go to name your human child. IF you tell people in advance - at least a handful of people are going to hate the name you chose and tell you that they used to know a boy named (insert name here) that picked his nose in school, yada yada yada. I love the name Bambi. |
I think Bambi is cute! I was looking around for some ideas and found this one: ■Bia: spirit of force, power, bodily strength and compulsion More Greek Mythological NamesYorkie Names | Yorkie Names |
Awwww I really appreciate all the kind words of support :D Ringo1, sooooo true!!!! It's really all about what her name means to me!!!! As for my "friend" to heck with her!! See if I give her anymore free MK products, right!!!! |
I agree with everyone else... Name her something you like, and don't worry about what your friends say. |
I think Bambi is cute, and Bambini is super cute. However, since she hasn't come home now, you might want a few alternate names in your pocket, in case for some reason it just doesn't fit her. I've ended up changing name preferences once I got the pup home and called it a certain name, and considered their personality. My Kayla and Karlee started out to have Hawaiian names that I loved, but they didn't fit them, so changed. |
It's entirely up to you and everyone else will just have to deal with it. If you are having second thoughts though, here are some "B" suggestions for you. ;) Bethenny Bali Bambina Bianca Billie |
I know exactly how you feel Gen. Why not go with something you're both comfortable with and like? Here are some names at the top of my head and sorry in advance if any of these are repeats as I haven't read the entire thread. Breeze, Breezy, Belle, Bee, Bubbles (love this), Brandie, Beauty, Blanket, Butters, Butter(cup), Blue, will keep thinking :) |
You know I really like the name Bambi, it is very cute and besides she is your baby so you name her whatever makes you happy. Just an FYI, if you are going to change her name I think the obvious "B" name is after her breeder Breny. |
I like the name Bambi and think it suits her cute little face. Of course I don't care what people think about names cause I let my son name our 2 boys Calvin and Hobbes after his favorite comic. |
love the name Bambi. you should defo name her that if you like it. I also really like Bubbles, Buttons and Bon Bon. |
Thanks tons everyone!!!! I'm sticking with Bambi!!!!! I appreciate all the kind words and help!!!!!!! |
So glad to hear that you are keeping Bambi! It's adorable and so is your little baby girl!!! |
I am glad you are sticking with Bambi! It's adorable. I have had almost everyone ask me where I came up with the name Taycie, or they say oh, thats different.. I love it. I love unique different names. Taycie's name came from a book that I read over and over growing up as a little girl. I don't think it matters what others say, she is your baby! |
OMGosh! That baby is so adorable and perfect in every way! I love Breny's babies. I can't imagine why anyone would think Bambi isn't a great name. I say stick with it...Bambi is a perfect name for her! Shame on your friend for making you question yourself on the name you chose. |
I'm so glad you stuck with it! It's so cute! It reminds me of how Princess really does "prance" and sometimes, too....Bambi is so fitting for a little Yorkie baby in so many ways!:) |
