We have had a very scary week Week started off normal but by today I swear I have about 20 new gray hairs. Sunday night the pizza guy opened the door and before I could grab Rudy and Moshe out the door they went. I caught Moshe not far from the house but Rudy went 2 blocks before I could catch him. Monday night Moshe was playing around my feet as I was carrying the last of the moving boxes outside and I tripped, but I also hurt him in the process. No Damage. Tuesday night, we had round worms. Wednesday we went to the vet to take care of the round worms and to get shots, as soon as we left Moshe got diarrhea with a bit of blood in it. Back to the vets we go as I just knew it was Parvo. It wasn't Parvo, it was the round worms. Last night I was holding him and the cat ran by me. He leaped from my arms and hit full force the hard wood floor. I screamed, I cried, he was fine...nothing broken. I cancelled the groomer. He had/has round worms (No more worms in his poop but ...eggs and life cycle...don't want to put anyone else at risk) plus I just can't take anything else. Maybe next week I will feel safer about letting someone go at him with nail clippers. This week no way! How did you guys make it through the puppy stage! |
Aww i am so sorry :( it will get better! Everyday is a new adventure with these little guys. I swear Presto gives us scares every 3-4 months. Last one was ear infection, before that it was his itching problem. |
all I can say... is this is not the week to buy a lotto ticket for you:eek: the good part is.. you made it through!! |

That does sound like a very scary and stressful week!! In the end when everything is calm, Give Rudy and Moshe a hug, once they give puppy kisses back to you, you will then realize why you go thru all the Puppy drama!! :D It is worth it! :aimeeyork |
 Good gosh, I think I need a drink:D Glad you got your pups nothing major happened. WATCH those hammers and nails though, weeks not over yet:p |
I feel your pain.. yesterday i had one of those days.. I went to pull out of my driveway to go to the vets (just a rabies vaccine) and this idiot has his bmw parked blocking my driveway. So I called the city and they came and got me out, and ticketed this bugger. Well I call the vet and tell them I managed to get out and was on route... I look at the dash and see my fuel light, so I prayed I wouldn't run out.. Got to the vet, then when I got home I decided to make rolls. Well I knocked over a FULL bottle of olive oil which shattered, and spilled. Luckily I had a friend there who grabbed Harley, he didn't get hurt. The while I was cleaning that mess up, and moving the fridge, my bread maker vibrated off the counter, right near where Harley was, but thank-fully he was still in my friend's arms. ruined the rolls, had to clean under my fridge. And I decided to go for a good long drink with my friends after that one. I hope your long weekend is better than your week. |
Wow! If you were next door, I'd be sure to stay away for awhile.:D |
I have a runner also Hi, I'm new here but I know how you feel about the door problem. I won't open the door now unless I either am holding Gracie or I have put her on her leash. It only takes a second but it could save her life. She started dashing out the door and running full speed when she was about 6 months old. I have been taking her on more long walks now that it is better weather out and it seems to have helped with her love of the outdoors but I still make sure she is secure before any door opens. We had the cable guy at the house a few weeks ago and he was going in and out the door a few times. Somehow she managed to slip out without anyone seeing her. I thought she was safely shut in the bedroom with my daughter. Thank God the cable guy saw her and brought her back in. The thing is these dogs stay small and will always need extra protection. I am a firm believer in obedience training as it is another way to make sure my dog stays safe. |
Wow, that has been scary all right! I'm always afraid of my 4 dashing out the door, so I have a gate inside the house, to stop them before they get to the door. It really helps cause when people come over they tend to stand in the doorway saying hello with the door open. |
:animal-pa Sorry that you had such an awful week with so much going on, I hope that you will have a great week next week, it is just around the corner. Have a happy week!!! Hope not alot of stress....:aimeeyork:animal36:animal-pa |
Wow! Baaaaad week. I thought my week was stressful, but not as bad as that. My week started last weekend with us watching my daughter's small dog for the weekend. Her dog, Zorro, does not like Copper much, and Copper was jealous. It was a 3 day adventure of keeping the dogs separate a good part of the time. Holly came for Zorro on Tuesday about the time my other daughter, Leanne, her hubby and 3 kids came to visit. My son's daughter was here to play also. Soooo, 4 kids and 2 dogs on Tuesday. Today (Friday)they all left. My husband helped me put the house back in order. Copper had his freedom and run of the house. Yea!! I've had to keep a close eye on him with all the grandkids about. They are all 6 and under. He spent a fair amount of time in his x-pen to be safe. (Except at night when he slept with us!! :) ) I'm tired now. Copper and I are sleeping in tomorrow! |
I hope you got all the chaos out of the way and nothing traumatic happens for the rest of your time while you are fixing the house, etc. hope to hear better news in the days to come.:animal-pa |
