His wife lives in another state and he moved down by my state for his work. The pups are his and comes with mexican pedigree and health guarantee. His family members is traveling down here with the pups by car. Its hard to get a purebred down here in Mexico and my neighbor recommended us to him thats why we know he's good. Their dog is perfectly healthy. But should I ask for a lower price because of the time delay. |

It's not like when you order a pizza and if it's not there in 30 mins, it's free. |
I would drop him like a hot potato, you said you are not looking for another breeder, he doesn't even sound like a breeder in the first place. |
I have seen it all, trying to bargin shop for a yorkie- sad. Not what you want to do. |

I agree with this. If this guy is what you claim, a good breeder, and he is just having issues bringing the pup down, why would you ask for a lower price? Because the pup isn't there when you originally expected? I think you wait, and buy from him if thats what you want, and pay what was agreed on, or you go an alternative route. I just think it seems strange to ask him for a lower price for this reason, especially since he is driving the pup down to you. |

Around 10 at night he calls and says I haven't been able to get ahold of them, they are having car trouble. The only reason why I couldn't get them here faster is because the airlines don't allow dogs on the plane during the holiday??? Never heard of this. I'm going to give him a just a few days more until we are done with him. Thanks All. |
Let's rethink this. If you were here in the States and a pup was held back by a breeder for what ever reason (say, they didn't feel the dog was ready to leave it's littermates or conditions weren't safe for traveling), would you ask for a lower price then? Not likely. And if you did, a good breeder would probably tell you to pound sand. I do have to take issue with something else you said. Just because your neighbor recommended him and their dog is healthy doesn't automatically make him a good breeder. Even BYB's and puppymills have their share of fans and healthy dogs. I truly hope for both your sake and the pups that he really is a good breeder. If that's the case, then the wait and the price are worth it. |
This is just my opinion, and you are free to ignore me, but... I wouldn't buy from the person. Obviously they are not his dogs to sell, so you don't know where the dogs are coming from or what their sire and dam are like. You get what you pay for in a lot of instances in life...I'd be weary of not knowing a thing about the pup... As for asking to lower the price? I think that is the least of the worry here. |

and if he is I would stay far far away from any dealings with him! |
Why would you want to give someone like that your money? I would never pay someone for that type of service. How healthy do you think this puppy is going to be? How traumatized do you think this puppy is going to be...?? He is treating you like crap, how do you think he treats this puppy? |

My two cents...run far and fast from this breeder. Not someone I personally would want to deal with, but of course thats only my view of things.. |
I think we are losing perspective here... It doesn't matter about the price anymore. This is a SCAM. I wouldn't trust him at all. He doesn't return calls, isn't there when he is supposed to be. Sounds like a puppy broker dealing with stolen dogs. Sounds like a movie I saw once where it was babies not puppies. RUN |
